NO CAPES!
What we haven’t addressed yet is whether Kyle wants to be a wholesome warbond-selling Golden Age type vigilante or an edgey, swearing 1980’s type vigilante. If he goes with the toga, I think the latter is inevitable.
Does Kyle remind anyone else of Wildest_Bill. No, I’m NOT saying they’re the same person, just that that’s the kind of person we’re up against. Someone who comes up with some zany idea and clings to it no matter how many times we provide evidence to dispute it.
I see him more as the tortured young man struggling to come to grips with his new-found powers and abilities in the face of a world which fears and shuns his kind: I fear a swirling black trenchcoat is inevitable. Just don’t emblazon a big red “S” on your body-armour: it may stand for “Stupid”, but not even the power of Kyle can hope to stand against the massed legions of The Lawyers.
Logging on, typing, and hitting SUBMIT?
Nah, character recognition. (Pun, of course: letter recognition and his ridiculous idea about Batman.)
I was thinking along the lines of opposable thumbs.
Uvula Donor, thanks I’ll check out the video. Sorry for cursing you out you just caught me on a bad day. AS for you kidchamleon I mean a vigilante that doesn’t kill so the Mafia doesn’[t count.
I think a group of vigilantes would weaken the government’s power and they won’t be able to hurt the poor anymore.
And Monty a real vigilante would give the poor a break like a real hero should.
And if a criminal happens to be poor-what then?
“It’s ok that you just murdered that bully, Timmy, because you’re. . .” [places hands on hips, cape flowing gloriously behind him and says in his deepest, most awe-inspiring superheroey (ahem, excuse me, “vilgilante-ey”) voice]
"POOR!"
Kyle, Kyle, Kyle. Whatever are we to do with you? Has it occurred to you that if a thread goes to five pages of people telling you why your cartoon concept of a “real hero” who “would weaken the government’s power” is childish and unworkable, you should start to rethink your ideas? Read the sentences I quoted again out loud: they sound like a 10 year old wrote them. “I think they would stop them being mean to people and be more nice to poor people.”
As long as the criminal isn’t a muderer he should be let go.
I mean the poor criminal.
So you’re fine with stealing? I’m sure that’d be of great benefit to the poor- anybody who gets robbed has no recourse.
Tell that to my fucking asshole mayor, Case Sensitive. You don’t understand the issues in the city right across the bridge from me. I’m telling you the poor people are losing housing because the mayor wants more hotels, that’s bullshit.
Ah. Yeah, then it’s what other people said. Why does being poor make it okay to commit crime? Do poor people just deserve a break, or do you think poor people have no choice, or no morals, or what?
I hiope the poor steals everything my mayor owns and his fucking ass family.
Cool. So in KyleWorld, a poor guy could:
Break into a house, steal everything he could carry, kidnap an eight-year-old out of her bed, take her back to his shack in the woods and tie her up, rape her for several months, then move on and leave her to starve, and it’s all OK by Kyle, as long as she doesn’t die.
Because he’s poor.
That’s a real rational viewpoint you’ve got there, buddy.
I mean hope*
I’m against rape too. I mean a poor guy should be able to steal from the asshole mayor and I don’t give a shit if they steal everything he owns. I hope he winds up on the streets.
