Kyle Rayner1 and his crap about cops

He could have fit into the batsuit…

Is there a benefit to police officers being in shape? Sure, although it’s not like the job requires Olympics level athleticism. Is there a benefit to police officers not being corrupt? Well, duh. But the fact of the matter is, most cops are (a) in decent shape, and (b) not corrupt. KyleRayner1 apparently can’t tell the difference between stereotypes and reality.

Be that as it may, there’s also the fact that being part of an organization like the police has tremendous advantages over a lone individual. The police have teams of investigators to search crime scenes for evidence. They have trained experts to handle things like hostage situations, bomb threats, etc. They have access to extensive files on criminal activity. Even something as simple as surrounding a building can’t be accomplished by a lone individual. Batman makes up for the disadvantages of working alone because he (A) has more varied and sophisticated knowledge and skills than anyone could really accumulate in one lifetime, (B) has access to sci-fi technology that doesn’t actually exist, © has unreasonable comic-book martial arts powers (where one unarmed man can somehow overcome a gang of men wielding highpowered firearms – something that’s nearly impossible in real life) and (D) has a seemingly inexhaustable supply of wealth.

And by the way, if you think a lone individual acting outside the law and with no oversight is less likely to be corrupt than a member of a high-profile governmental organization operating in the public eye, with numerous specific checks against corruption and abuse of power . . . well, then you’re an idiot.

Alright, I’m going to make this short and sweet. Last night was my last big party before starting college so I was a little drunk when I made those two posts so my apoligies (all my other posts stand though)

I didn’t lie but I don’t believe a vigilante would have changed anything so just want to make the record straight.

Monty, I shouldn’t have made generalizations considering my experience but over weight cops are still a huge problem.

I still think a vigilnate could work under the right cirumstances, however.

So could Communism.

And those circumstances don’t exist outside of comic books.

Yeah. TPTB have decided that Kyle Rayner1 is not START but it’s mighty odd for him to use START’s MO. Maybe START is his brother?

: points and laughs at the dumbass :

That’s impossible. He’d be dead, remember? : snerk :

Maybe START mixed up his brother with his police officer dad?

Don’t you mean “short and stupid?”

Perhaps you’ll learn some research skills at college.

(a) Isn’t it illegal in your area for someone who’s under 21 to be drinking alcohol? Where’s Batman when you need him? Now, if you’re 21 or over or if your area has a lower age for legal drinking, then disregard that.

(b) Please identify which two posts. You have a wealth of posts in this thread alone that could reasonably be described as having been made while drunk.

You’re including the posts where your own belated research proves you wrong? Truly amazing.

As a matter of fact, you did.

Are you now saying that you agree that a vigilante is a bad idea?

Finally!

I spoke too soon. You’re truly thick, aren’t you? How huge a problem are they? What are the statistics, where’s the research to back up this claim?

You have now contradicted yourself in the same posting.

C’mon, Monty, can’t you spot the obvious pun?
Hint to Kyle: Admit to the pun and slink away with what little dignity you can muster after this mess.

D_Odds: I missed that one and I even used the word thick in my response!

Comments from a moderately interested reader who has worn a gun n’ badge:

Kyle, you haven’t been right about anything in this thread or the one that spawned it, nor have you been able to muster much to support your assertions. Right now would be an excellent time to have the bugler sound “retreat.”

Monty, you’ve put me in an interesting position. Though I agree with you on many of the things you’ve brought out in this thread, the style in which you post makes me wish I wasn’t on your side. Your performance in the thread that led to this one was no great shakes, either. It amounted to no more than declaring that those who disagreed with you were wrong because they disagreed with you.

Scumpup: Your opinion is just that, yours. There was nothing wrong with my performance in either thread. If you don’t like that, it’s no skin off my nose.

Monty, you’re winning, in as much as it’s possible to win something like an internet pissing contest. Why not declare victory and move on? Doing the “Happy Asshole in Your Face” dance won’t make you any more right, and it is impossible for Kyle to be any more wrong than he already is.

BTW, yes your performance was shoddy in the first thread. All of your arguments stemmed from your own initial assumptions about the morality of killing; assumptions that you seem to believe must be accepted as immutable fact.

Oh, excuse me for accepting the simple fact that murder in certain, if not most parts, of the world is against the law.

That’s Monty being Monty, curmudgeon that he is.

First of all, fuck you to Uvula Dona or whatever the fuck you want to be called, asshole. Why didn’t your mom abort you? That’s the real Great Debte.

Anyway Monty, my dad was killed alright. I know more cops than you and I go to the D.C. memorial every year and they’re out of shape. I’m sorry but a vigilante would help things a hell of a lot whether you like or not and damn it my dad was a cop was yours? Didn’t think so. So, from speaking from expericence I know what I’m talking about and a vigilante would help.

Wouldn’t that involve a resurrection?

This is just embarrassing at this point. And that’s irrespective of whether or not KyleRayner1’s ignorant comments were prompted by the real-life loss of his father.

My comments are from my dad not losing weight to save his life and the local PD not responding to the growing problem where I live.
