Not a whole lot of movies out there I want to see right now. I’ve got several days off, though. I saw La Mission listed at one of the larger theatres.

Haven’t seen it yet, but probably will. Not a whole lot of movies you want to see? That’s too bad. Depending on where you live and your theater situation (which can’t be that bad if a theater near you is playing La Mission), there are bunches of good-to-great movies playing now.
If nothing else, seek out Winter’s Bone if it’s playing anywhere near you. I’m sure a lot of great movies are still to be released in the upcoming months, but Winter’s Bone will still end up being among the very best of the year come December 31. And it’s going to get a shitload of awards attention, if that interests you at all. If nothing else, you can amaze your friends with your mad prediction skillz by predicting its multiple nominations at a time when very few people will have heard of it. It will almost certainly be this year’s Slumdog Millionaire/The Hurt Locker, at least in attention and nominations, though probably not in wins.
