So Nick Lachey is asking for financial recompense from soon to be ex Jessica Simpson. Even what she has earned after they split?! A good idea, publicity-wise? A good idea, financially? What chance does he have?
Well men have to pay financial support to women after a divorce all the time, so I don’t see what the difference is. Not sure about the money earned after the divorce though.

Um, why? Happens all the time with women, remember Johnny Carson?. So if you find the entire alimony thing garbage, that’s cool, but if it’s just because he’s a man, I’m calling bullshit.
I can have it both ways. I can be pissed by the concept of alimony (I am a big supporter of child support, tho) and doubly so when a MAN sponges off a ex-spouse.

Part of the reason that Jessica Simpson is as famous (and wealthy) as she is now is her coupledom with Nick Lachey. Why shouldn’t he seek some support from her for that?
Truly. He’s probably more entitled to a slice of the pie than 99% of all other alimony candidates since he can actually say he is part of what got her where she is.
And vice-versa, though. I mean, 98 Degrees was washed up years before Newlyweds went on the air, and without Newlyweds, Lachey (and Simpson) would be obscure two-hit wonders right now.
