Ladies, does anyone else plan and lay out their work clothes for a week ahead?

I do. I get up at 3:30, an hour drive to the gym and a 10 minute drive after my workout to the office. I don’t have the brain power at that time of the morning to put together an outfit, so it’s all preplanned-grab and go.

My BF seems to think this means I am OCD or have an OCD or whatever.

Anyone else?

Part of my “getting ready for bed” ritual is laying out my clothes for the next day. I will also iron stuff during this time.

A week in advance? I don’t think that far in ahead. Also, I don’t have anywhere to lay all those clothes. And the cats would sleep on them if I did. But I don’t think you’re OCD (or OCPD) because of it.

I really really love and need sleep, so I try to get as much as I can while still doing all the stuff I need to do before running out of the house. I’ve got my morning routine down to 45 minutes, with not a moment to spare. Laying out my clothes the night before allows me to do this.

There’s nothing difficult for me about picking out a shirt and a pair of pants. I mean, what doesn’t go with khaki or blue jeans? I could pick literally anything out of my closet and it would look fine together. No brain power required.

I don’t lay anything out the morning before and my morning from wake up to out the door is about 30 minutes, but I can do it in less if properly motivated.

When I was working full time, I would always have a rough idea of what I was going to wear for the week, but not necessarily each outfit for each day. I would figure that out the night before.

I generally decide what I’m going to wear while I’m showering. Since I don’t fuss with my hair and I don’t do makeup, I can be out the door within 45 minutes of waking up, and that includes packing my lunch, taking the dog out, feeding her, and scooping the cat box.

I did learn a valuable lesson a few weeks back, tho - I need to make sure my shoes are a pair. Just because both loafers are brown and both made by the some company, it’s not a fashion statement when one shoe has fringe and the other has a buckle…

Subject: CASH INTO YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT WITH JUST A FEW CLICKS

IT REALLY WORKS-IT’S NOT A SCAM – YOU NEED $6 / TIME / A COMPUTER

!!!QUICK MONEY!!! – FAST CASH
At first I thought this was too good to be true, how wrong I was!! I decided to give it a go, it was only 6 dollars so why not? Well I was astounded!! Money has, and still is coming to my account.

Ok this is all you need:

  1. An email address
  2. A PayPal account
  3. then POST,POST,POST,POST,POST,POST,…

Only hours after implementing this exact system I about fell out of my chair as money ACTUALLY started rolling in. I couldn’t believe it and for that reason, I became a believer in this system.?

WHAT IS IT?
The idea is that of a system that takes advantage of the power of compounding. And in a big way, let me tell you. First and foremost understand that there are countless spin-offs of this system that try to make a “quick buck” off of people. Long lists, the 5 & 10 dollar trees, the birthday systems, etc… Those spin-offs do make money because of the ease of implementation of this idea, but they do NOT use the compounding advantage. This system is THE legit and profitable one.

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS…
There is a list of 6 email addresses (you’ll see it as you read further). Each of these people has already taken part in this system.

When someone new comes along (such as yourself) he/she removes #1 off of the list, moves the other five email addresses up one position (i.e. #6 goes to #5, #5 to #4, etc.), and adds their PayPal email address in the 6 position.

This process is what develops the power of compounding.

The bottom line is this… Honesty and Integrity creates Profitability.
Following this EXACT process is what creates the money, and that is why this system has been raved about in the Altering the system creates weak results. The legality of this system comes from the idea that you are of course creating a mailing list, and a “service” is being provided (more on that later.) Now on to how your message creates BIG money…

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1:
The first thing to do COPY, PASTE and SAVE this entire post in word or notepad on your computer so you can come back to it later.

After that, if you are not already a PayPal user you need to go to the PayPal website at https://www.paypal.com/ and SIGN UP.

To receive credit card payments from other people you must sign up for a PREMIER or BUSINESS account (not just a PERSONAL account). This is highly recommended to allow others easy payment options.

To place the initial $6 into your account, you will have to verify your bank account with PAYPAL (which may take a few days).

PAYPAL is 100% secure and is used by millions of people worldwide.

STEP 2:
Here is where the action occurs. Then next send a $1.00 payment to each of the 6 email addresses on the current list from your PayPal account. To do this quickly and successfully, follow these simple steps:

  1. Login to PayPal and click the “Send Money” tab near top of screen
  2. In the “Recipient’s Email” field type: the email address
  3. In the “Amount” field type: “1” (your $1.00 payment)
  4. In the “Category” field select: “Service” (Keeping it legal)
  5. In the “subject” field type: “EMAIL LIST”,
  6. In the “message” field type: “PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR EMAIL LIST”.
(By doing this, you are creating a service and maintaining the legality of the system by “paying” for the service. )
  7. Finally, click on the “Continue” button to complete the payment.
  8. Repeat these steps for each of the 6 email addresses. that’s it!

(By sending the $1.00 payment to each address, you are implementing
the compounding POWER of the system. You will reap what you sow! )

Here is the current e-mail list:

  1. fathe_byl@yahoo.com
  2. armoedz@gmail.com
  3. ibez@bigpond.com
  4. lawrence.a.spann@gmail.com
  5. melsott@hotmail.com
  6. mattias__ohlin@hotmail.se

STEP 3:
Now take the 1st email off of the list that you see above (from your saved file), Move the other addresses up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, etc.) and add YOUR email address (the one used for your PayPal account) as number 6 on the list. This is the only part of the document that should be changed.
** Make sure to use the email address you registered with PayPal **

STEP 4 now post new file created in STEP 3 to at least 200 newsgroups or message boards. Keep in mind that there are tens of thousands of groups online!
All you need is 200, but remember the more you post the more money you make - as well as everyone else on the list!

I’ve began to see money roll in before I even hit 100 posts, but try to hit around 200 to allow maximum exposure. Use Netscape, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or whatever your internet browser is to search for various news groups, on-line forums, message boards, bulletin boards, chat sites, iscussions, discussion groups, on-line communities, etc.

For example?

Log on to any search engine like yahoo.com or google.com and type in a subject like ‘MILLIONAIRE MESSAGE BOARD’,MONEY MAKING DISCUSSIONS’, ‘MONEY MAKING FORUMS’, or ‘BUSINESS MESSAGE BOARD’, etc. You will find thousands and thousands of message boards. Click them one by one and you will find the option to post a new message. Fill in the subject which will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group, and post the article with the NEW list of email addresses included. THAT’S IT!!! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away. After you get the hang of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup.

HOW THE MONEY WORKS
:
When you post 200 messages in various forums, it is estimated that at LEAST 15 people will respond and send you a $1.00 ($15.00). Those 15 will Post 200 Posts each and 225 people send you $1.00
($225.00), etc. through 6 levels of email addresses. For comprehension purposes, here is an easy viewing chart:

  1. 15(1) = 15 people ($1) = $15
  2. 15(15) = 225 people ($1) = $225
  3. 15(225) = 3375 people ($1) = $3375
  4. 15(3375) = 50625 people ($1) = $50625
  5. 15(50625) = 759375 people ($1) = $759375

As you can see, your message has multiplied exponentially. What other opportunity that is as simple as this can cash in the way this can?! I’m not going to say this is going to make everyone over $800,000, but within a few WEEKS you begin to see results, thanks to the speed of the internet!

When your name is no longer on the list, take the latest posting in the newsgroups and begin the process again. Simply amazing…Follow the system as described, and enjoy your PROFITS!!!

REMEMBER… HONESTY AND INTEGRITY = PROFITABILITY YOUR NAME COULD CYCLE FOR A LONG TIME!

Good luck!

HOW TO POST TO NEWS GROUPS?
Use Netscape or Internet Explorer and try searching for various newsgroups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites, discussions.)

Log on any search engine like yahoo.com, google.com, altavista.com, excite.com, etc. Search with the subject "millionaire message board; or; money making message board; or; employment message board; or making money discussions; or; money making forum; or; business message board; etc. You will find thousands & thousands of message boards.

Click on them one by one and you will find the option ‘post a new message’.

Then Post this article as a ‘new message’ by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting copy then paste from the edit menu.

Fill in the Subject, this will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group, click the post message button.

You’re done with your first one! It only takes about 60 seconds to complete postings on message boards
after you catch on.

REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! !!!GOOD LUCK!!

Back when I was on the road 5 days a week (and in a different location), I did this - but I only needed 3 suits, max, because I could recycle readily during the week since I saw different people every day.

Now, I generally know (some variety of black pants + a top), but don’t necessarily decide in advance.

Currently I plan my clothes about ten minutes before leaving the house, once I’ve checked the weather.

When I’m a M-F commuter I grab enough clothes to be dressed for five days, but that tends to mean the jeans I’m wearing, another pair, two or three tees (one of them worn), whatever warm clothing is location-appropriate and enough underwear.

Are you guys outfit-wearers or “so long as the colors don’t fight each other and what I’m wearing is not illegal, I’m fine” types? I’m the second. My mother is the first; for any trip we take together, she carries two-three times as many pieces of clothing as I do.

I don’t do that now because my job attire is very casual, but I used to get a weeks worth of clothes ready each Sunday. I’d get any ironing done, make sure I had stockings for each outfit, etc. I didn’t lay things out, just sort of sectioned them out in the closet. I don’t consider that OCD, just organized.

Nope. One job I wear scrubs (one day a week), and the other nobody cares what I wear as long as I’m not naked. I pretty much wear jeans/capris/slacks in browns and blacks, and then a top that may or may not be considered cute. I haven’t worn stuff that needed to be ironed since the 90’s. Even then, it was pretty much from the dry cleaners so already pressed or re-hung and sprayed down from the last wearing and not dirty yet. The challenge back in those days was finding/keeping hose around that were clean or without runs. Damn, I don’t miss that! Haven’t worn a skirt since.

Your boyfriend is crazy. I don’t do this anymore as I WFH 4 days a week so getting dressed for work involves throwing on yoga pants and a tank top or sweat shirt depending on the weather but since I can be required to run into the office on a moments notice for an emergency I always have one outfit in the side of my closet with all the required components and accessories. If I’m summoned and I’m rushing to get in for an executive presentation the last thing I want to be worrying about is if my shoes match my suit.

Ditto with getting organized Sunday. I work in a professional environment, but not a bank or a lawyer’s office. Just someplace where we’re expected to dress like grown ups (unless we’re in IT)
I have my clothes organized in ‘packs’. Some skirts are year round so I have 2 jackets for it (winter and summer). I try not to cross one jacket to two skirts. It throws dry-cleaning cycle out of whack.

OP, is your boyfriend a lazy slob? Cause really, just being neat and organized is not OCD.

I used to lay out my clothes for the next day, but in our new house we have quite a small bedroom and there simply isn’t room.

I have a number of ‘work outfits’ and generally I’ll make sure everything is laundered and put away by Sunday night so I’ve got a full choice.

When I wasn’t working from home, I always had a plan of what I’d wear for a week - it wasn’t set in stone, but I knew which pieces and made sure they were hemmed, repaired, shined (shoes/boots), lacking runs (hose) etc. - and I hung them up in the closet that way. Most of my clothes will work together so I had some leeway as to what I wore each day - but the basics were already gathered, so to speak. So I was good for a week. And knew I wouldn’t have any wardrobe malfunctions.

Now that I’m working from home, I make sure I have the belt already threaded through the jeans I am wearing the next day and the sweater/shirt I am wearing the next day laid on the bench next to the bed. That’s about the extent of the prep time anymore.

You’re an outfitter. Those of us who are not are not lazy slobs, and life is a lot simpler to everybody if both types let the other type do things their own way without insulting each other, ok? Also, it is very possible that the boyfriend’s clothes are much easier to choose, simply by virtue of not needing stockings.

It’s OCD if you feel like something terrible is going to happen if you don’t do it. Not something like “I might be late,” but something like “I will die.” Otherwise, you’re just highly organized, which is a great quality to have.

I plan my clothes and lay them out the night before. I started doing it when I realized that my husband truly seems to be physically unable to be the first out of bed (it’s usually still at least partially dark when I wake up). If I didn’t start setting my clothes out, I’d be forever be wasting time, staggering around the bedroom in the mornings trying to make sure my clothing didn’t look like my 3 year old had put it together.

So, no, I don’t think that’s OCD at all. It makes sense to me.

Nothing wrong with you. Actually the first thought I had was that this would have been more common back in the days of going to the laundromat once a week (and possibly sending your ironing out*). You had to plan ahead because you wouldn’t be able to throw a load in the washing machine, because you didn’t have a washing machine.

*Yes, when I was a little kid in the early 70s, my mom would send out the ironing. She would go to the laundromat on Saturday morning–the whole town evidently did their laundry on Saturday morning because no one was rich enough to have a washer and dryer and of course the laundromat was closed on Sunday–then take the clothesbaskets of ironables (everything that wasn’t socks or underwear) to a lady in town and then probably pick everything up on Monday after work.

My work dress code is pretty much nonexistent, so there’s no need to go to much trouble. The only times I put my clothes out the night before is when it’s too dark to see anything when I wake up, and I don’t want to wake up my husband (who wakes up a couple hours after me) while I rummage around finding clothes.

Planning a whole week out seems like a huge pain. I “plan” by having laundry done so I can choose from a clean selection. But laying/hanging out the outfits for a whole week? What if I wake up Tuesday and feel bloated and need to wear my fat pants, but I’ve put out my skinny jeans? Chaos!

I guess maybe more effort needs to go into wardrobe planning if you need to dress all snappy for work. I wear jeans half the time, and a lab coat over everything anyway, so I’m coming from a different perspective.

I’ve decided that I need to start laying out clothes the night before, because not only am I fuzzy-brained when I wake up, but I’m now getting up before the Sun and the lighting in my bedroom is poor enough that I can’t make out color.
