I stupidly bought a handbag based only on the outside appearance (I like retro shapes):
It has a zip compartment and some pouches, but the reality is that the interior is a huge magical cavern that puts the item I’m looking for right at the bottom under everything else.
So I need something with compartments, and definitely an outside zip/pouch for quick access to frequently needed items (phones and keys, mostly).
Inspire me with your awesome handbag! What brand is it, how much did it cost, and why is it awesome?
Ooooh! Pretty! I had always bought handbags with multiple pockets, so I could organise things. But now, I buy a bag with one largish compartment, and put a purse organiser in it. This handy piece of gear I can then move from bag to bag, and not leave Very Important Stuff in the last bag I used. Might have to use organizer in the search term. there are lots of brands out there. I love mine, everything has a set spot, just lift it out holus-bolus to put in the next bag.
I’m not really fashion, brand or status-conscious when it comes to handbags - I’m more into practicality. And since I’ve got one of these in two different colors, I can’t imagine using any other bag ever again! Kipling Alvar
You can wear it as cross-body or as a shoulder bag, it sits wonderfully flat, and best of all - although you wouldn’t believe it to look at it - it’s perfectly iPad sized.
Thisis my current favorite. I love the blue leather, the size is perfect for my wallet, keys, inhaler, epi-pen, pill box, cosmetics bag, phone, and Kindle Fire. But it’s not so large that things get lost and jumbled.
I actually have 4 full size Fossil Sutters, which is sadly a discontinued model, but I find them on Ebay. I adore this bag.
Fossil has come out with a replacement that’s almost identical. I can’t get an image, but google Fossil Morgan.
I don’t know how much you can tell from the photo if you find one, but on the back there’s another zipper pocket and inside is a large zipper pocket and 2 smaller ones, that actually fit a smart phone, at least a regular sized one. And instead of 2 snap pouches on the front (which seem to pop open), the old Sutter has 1 snap pocket and a zip pocket with another pocket inside that one. Sounds like overkill, but it’s not!! If you like the Fossil Sutter, be careful not to get one that says “cross body.” It’s a small one.
I bought this Michael Kors tote in blue and I’m totally in love with it. It is big enough to carry everything I need but not so big that I have to send in a search and rescue team. And it has two outside pockets for phone and keys.
It’s pricey, but I’ve had it over a year and it’s held up beautifully. I get a ton of compliments on the color.
