When I originally wrote the OP, I simply meant to imply that I thought pedophiles did not have a choice in their liking of young boys. I compared it to sexual orientation (another thing that people don’t have choice over.) I really didn’t mean it as a swipe at homosexuals.

I’d appreciate it if it wasn’t accompanied by unproven claims about the cause of pedophilia and hysterical, antisocial screamfests at everyone who dares to disagree. Like I said, he doesn’t have the right to speak for us. He has every right to stand up and point out offensive comments against any group - I’m white, but I certainly don’t let racist comments stand unchallenged. He doesn’t, however, have the right to act as though he represents us, and in a terrible light at that.
My beef with DtC right now is because he was being a complete asshole; the bit about how he can’t speak for gay people is pretty secondary. But when someone’s being an absolute fucking jerk and a moron at the same time, I prefer it if they not drag the queers into it. Or any other group, for that matter.
Please show me where I ever pretended to speak for gay people. If I was gay would you still say I didn’t have the right to be offended?

And yes, you had no right to be offended at the post you freaked out over, whether straight or gay. Because it wasn’t offended. And you had no right to turn what might have been an interesting thread into yet another “Diogenes versus Everyone Else” pay-attention-to-me waste of electrons. Gay people don’t have that right either, and I’ve condemned spectrum for it too.
