Laptop computer monitor choices

If I intend to use a laptop to watch DVD’s is there a significant difference in image quality between xga and sxga monitors. Also, I am assuming that I will have no problem viewing commercially obtained movie dvd’s. Is this assumption correct?

Any concievable display will be higher resolution than a DVD. And no, you’ll have no problems playing DVDs if the laptop includes a DVD-ROM drive. The main thing resolution matters for is gaming and text reading. One last thing to note is battery life, it would kind of suck to have 90 minutes of battery for a 120 minute movie.
