I sit this while waiting for my connecting flight at McCarran airport. I had two hours to kill, which would have ordinarily meant maybe watching a movie or playing some cheezy games on my laptop, and that in itself is a pretty darn spiffy way to wait for a flight… But they have free, open wi-fi network access so I’ve been able to surf the SMDB and all my other haunts just as easily as at home. It’s layover bliss! Kudos to Las Vegas for making my travel that much more pleasant.
Totally mundane and pointless, but I had to share.

My in-laws live near Tampa, so I fly into and out of Tampa International Airport a lot. The new concourse that they just opened has free WiFi, which is going to be a big plus. (It’s the concourse that Southwest and a few other low-fare carriers are now in.) They’re planning to extend WiFi access to the whole airport over the next couple of years.
I found this list of airports with free WiFi; I don’t vouch for its accuracy.
BWI, which is my ‘home’ airport, only has WiFi access in their food courts (where I don’t really want to hang out), and you’ve got to pay 25¢/minute, or $7.95/day.
