I am posting this from 30,000 feet

I am currently on a Southwest Air flight from Phoenix to Manchester, and it the first time I have used their WiFi hotspot. Works pretty good, though my laptop battery is almost drained, i was using it in the airport.

The price is $5.

I keep waiting for that on one of my flights…especially the long, business ones.

A few years ago I posted from over the Bay of Bengal.

This was I think 2006, and it was Singapore Airlines - they were handing out 30 minute vouchers in the airport as a trial, so I approached each voucher babe wearing a variety of combinations of glasses, jackets etc and got about 6 of them.

It was a surreal experience, akin to the first time I used a car phone. Fast, but then few other people were using the service. Not sure what the contention ratio would be like if everyone on board were using it.

I’m back. My laptop battery died, so I am posting from my Blackberry over WiFi.

They need USB power ports at each seat.

You must watch this mid flight. (hmm…probably too late now, well I’ll post it anyways).

No, that’s what you must watch
