I am about engage my favorite pastime and embark on another short trip. This time out I will be going to Las Cruces during Spring Break to visit my sis, BIL, and nieces. I will be flying into ELP on March 10 and leaving for home on March 18.
I always enjoy meeting Dopers face-to-face when I travel, if the opportunity allows. So what say you? As of now my schedule is wide open. I plan on doing the White Sands thing, as well as Gila Cliff Dwellings, but nothing set in stone yet.
Asterion and Dag Otto are both in LC. I’ve mini-Dope Fested with Dag Otto in Vegas and can vouch for him, now that Asterion character (Just kidding, I played poker online with both almost weekly for a couple of years).
Scheduling might be a problem. I work graveyard shift Tuesday night through Saturday night. Also, I will probably be busy with some family stuff during the week you are here. But, it’s worth a try.
St. Paddy’s day? I have a wedding in Vegas (NV), or I’d probably end up down there myself. The first weekend of spring break, though? I might be about an hour from White Sands. T or C has some pretty nice hot springs. I don’t know many details, but I’ll probably be about an hour away from there. I’ll subscribe to this thread, let me know what you guys decide.
A few years too late for me. Still got lots of stuff sitting in my parents’ house in El Paso, but I’m currently parked in the cornfields. I’d be there if I were around.
I’m so envious. I wish I were a Las Cruces area Doper! Someday. (I didn’t know there were so many Dopers there. My sister used to live there and I fell in love with New Mexico while visiting her.)
