Are the shows CSI and LAS VEGAS both in the same fictional “universe”?
I don’t know if CSI is, but Crossing Jordan is.
No. *Crossing Jordan * and *Las Vegas * were, however.
They’re on different networks, so no.
Well, this guy manages to connect them but I think he’s managed to connect everything on television together somehow.
The Crossover List (which is quite a bit more sane, despite a few oddities) shows the three CSIs as sharing a universe with Cold Case and Without a Trace. It shows Las Vegas as sharing a universe with Crossing Jordan, Heroes and Passions and possibly also with Medium and The Office. But no connection between CSI and Las Vegas (the show, not the city).
He doesn’t mention a connection I have seen elsewhere between CSI and Bones, based on the fact that one of the victims in Bones supposedly worked at the Tangiers Casino in Las Vegas, the Tangiers being one of the (fictional) casinos used in CSI).
That’s not an absolute bar. “Ally McBeal” and “The Practice” were on different networks (Fox & ABC), but had crossovers. They were both created & written by David E. Kelley however.
And, if you count the character Det. John Munch as a connection, “Homicide, Life on the Street” exists in the same universe as all the Law & Orders, “The Beat”, “The X-Files”, and “Arrested Development”.
