I haven’t seen this yet and seeing as how I got 2/4 perfect in the quarter-finals, I have a vested interest in seeing this thing through.

Germany vs Korea is at 12:30 GMT this afternoon and I think that Brazil vs Turkey is at the same time tomorrow. I think that seeing as how it’s just the two games, it’s reasonable to take in the predictions right up to the bitter beginning of each game.

So here’s mine:

Germany 1 - 0 S. Korea (Those dem Germans stoically end THE story of the WC)

Brazil 2 - 1 Turkey (for bonus points: Rivaldo, Carlos; Sas)

Well Korea could well have beaten USA in their group clash what with the saved penalty and many more scoring chances. USA should have beaten Germany so let the dream continue.

Korea 1 Germany 0 Golden goal in extra time.

Nine man Turkey lost to Brazil 2-1 in their group game.

A 1-1 draw that will go to penalties. Brazil 5 - 3.

Since all the long thoughts, analyses, etc… amount to nothing anyway…

Here are my wild guesses:

Germany 2 - Korea 1
Brazil: 2 - Turkey 2 ( I cant even guess who wins by golden goal or penalties)

but in the makeup game,

Brazil 2 - Turkey 3 (longshot, but gotta pick against the crowd to make up points)

My amazing powers of prediction with respect to Germany continue. That’s 4 spot on and 1 correct result!

Obi-Wan, given that last time I saw the tables (before the 1/4-finals, admittedly) you were winning and I was third, you’re either being very cunning by choosing the same scores as I am - thus ensuring I cannot overtake you - or you’re just carrying on being slightly better than me at picking the scores. I can’t work out which.

I had already picked out the results yesterday morning for my work league - however, I can’t deny that a wry smile crossed my lips when I saw your scores. What do they say about great minds? :slight_smile:

I’ll just have to make sure that I post before you for the final two games to remove all doubt. What is it with these finals and conspiracy theories? I now know how the Koreans feel. :wink:

Bollocks. I’ve barely been able to get on the SDMB for the past couple days and completely missed this thread.

I would have picked Germany and Brazil to win though, does that count for anything? (i.e. two points)
