For the last month I’ve been hearing this song Last Night with Diddy and Kecia Coles. The song feels like Prince (I thought it was Prince tune the first few times I heard it) in some undefineable way too me. Am I the only one? Can you define it for me.
Okay, just downloaded it and listened to it - yeah, there is a strong Prince vibe to that song. The beat, for one thing - Raspberry Beret, When Doves Cry. The male vocals are very Prince-y sounding. Reminds me a lot of Justin Timberlake, too.
Prince is one of the, say, five or six most influential musicians of his generation; there’s a LOT of music out there that “sounds like Prince.”
Well he’s written quite a few songs for other artists. But I can’t remember anyone other than Jesse Johnson emulating his style so blatantly.
