When a thread goes over 5 pages, as the NY DopeFest thread is today, there is a link that says “Last Page”, but the code is for “Last Post”, which is, as indicated, the last post on the last page. This seems to me to be a recent change. What gives?
Depending on your definition of recent, I’ve noticed this, and was a bit curious about it, as well. I’ve been reading the boards for about a year now, and I can’t recall when this wasn’t the case.
Not that this isn’t a change, mind, but I don’t remember it ever working any other way.
It just smacked me in the face…
It is guaranteed to get you to the last page, without extraneous coding.
Also, aren’t “thread pages” determined by the user’s browser rather than the server, depending on the posts per page setting, and suchlike?
[sub]Which would make coding out a link to the top of the last page a royal pain, I’d think.[/sub]
Either you’re mistaken and it isn’t a recent change, or else you’re not mistaken and it is a recent change. If it is a recent change, it would have happened the last time the board software was upgraded, which was a few weeks ago.
Thanks, that clears everything up!
