Last year of veterinary medical school.....

And I am depressed. 2 months to study the anatomy, physiology, diseases and treatment of more than 12 species? don’t know the efficient way to study? what will I be doing after graduation? How will I pass this year?
:frowning:

Are you taking the NAVLE boards in April, you didn’t try back in November/December? Either way, it’s not the end of the world if you don’t pass them. And if you fail them, they tell you what the weaknesses were, so that you can study them harder next time you take the test.

Study from your notes, for real. Don’t understand something? Merck and Internal Medicine books (or surgery books) are good backup. Doesn’t your school offer study sessions? Go to them, if they have them.

You still have clinics, or aren’t you almost done? It is highly unlikely to fail clinics. I mean, you can get a C, but I think you have to do really poorly in order to not even pass (I dunno, maybe kill a patient).

Everything will work out. Somehow it all comes together. I was stressed the hell out too around this time my last year.

Tackle studying subject by subject, starting with your weak areas first. Get some books to supplement your notes and handouts. You don’t need to buy up the whole store, though. The only book I remember buying for board study was the Field Guide to Large Animal Medicine.

I think 60% of passing the NAVLE is having the knowledge. Good test taking skills and confidence is responsible for the rest. And that comes from good studying. If you chart out a plan for study, then you’ll walk into the testing center feeling okay and will probably do okay. If you walk in there feeling like you didn’t read up on pharmacology enough, then it’ll affect your performance.

The work thing will come together, too. A lot of hospitals rather hire fresh out of school vets than the more experienced ones.
