Late, But As Promised, A Few More Pictures From Kwaj

Well, the quality is not the best, but I’m using the camera function on my camcorder right now, but as I promised in this thread here are some more pictures of the island.

Lagoon Road. It seems to have more greenery than when I was here before (and **Subway Prophet ** and Clothahump)–about the same number of palm trees, but many more plumeria trees.

Our back yard. The small pots on the ground are my tomato seedlings. I want me some fresh 'maters! The lagoon is washed out by the sunlight, but it is just over the fence to the right in the photo. Yes, those are banana trees, and yes, they do produce bananas.

The front of the house.Yes, the bikes are how we get around, and almost everyone’s has a basket or two…that’s how we carry packages, groceries, etc. home. Unless you have a lot of groceries, then you use the free delivery service from the store (Surfway). From personal experience, I can tell you that for getting the dehumidifier or microwave oven home from the post office, you are on your own, hee, hee. That’s why a lot of bikes also have small bike trailers attached to them. The floats you see on the ground my wife & I found while beachcombing.

These are “new housing.” Built in 1989 and of conventional wood frame construction. As opposed to the solid brick 400- and 200-series housing, which was built in the 1950s, I suppose 17 years old can be considered “new.”

I’ll do some more, and better pics later, maybe some of the reef and the critters that live there. Thanks again to all for the encouragement and support!
