Lateral Thinking Puzzles. Let's do it again!

Is the bird a member of the class Aves, characterized by feathers, toothless beaked jaws, the laying of hard-shelled eggs, a high metabolic rate, a four-chambered heart, and a strong yet lightweight skeleton?

Was the celebrity who owned the cows human?

Got to go to work now. I think you all are about to get this.

Robert Byrd? Harry Flood Byrd? Some other famous person named Byrd or Bird?

Is the bird actually a person?

Is the bird the celebrity owner of the cows?

Is he the Arctic explorer Byrd?

reply to Fretful Porpentine:

Robert Byrd? No Harry Flood Byrd? No Some other famous person named Byrd or Bird? Yes.

Yes to all!

Pretty much solved, but anybody want to guess why Byrd’s cows were at the hotel?

Were the cows from another part of the world?

Did he bring the cows with him on a voyage?

Were the cows special for a reason having nothing to do with Byrd?

reply to Cheesesteak

Did he bring the cows with him on a voyage? Yes! You got it!

+++++
The cows had spent two years in Antarctica!

The story is fascinating and well worth the read. “Iceberg,” the bull was actually born aboard ship just above the southern polar circle.

In the the early 1930’s, the exploits of explorer Richard Byrd were front page news. These cows were minor celebrities. Upon their return the cows went on a publicity tour, including the stop at New York’s Commodore Hotel. The cows were the guests of honor!

Another great story here. I didn’t make up the “hay on ice” cocktails :D.

I’ve been tweaking one for awhile and I think it is ready to be posted. Here we go:

Kendall landed himself a pretty sweet deal. So great it was, some said he briefly became the sixth most powerful man in the world. It didn’t last, but the impact made by his deal did. What was the deal?

Real story (as in something that happened in real life)?

Was this at a time when there were not many people in the world?

Was his power financial?
Was his power political?
Was his power religious?
Was his power cultural?
Did his power stem from the power of one of the five ahead of him on the list?

Real, but I kind of tinkered with it for my puzzle.

NO.

NO to all.

Was Kendall’s sweet deal a business deal?

Was Kendall’s power physical in nature? At the time, were there 5 other men more powerful than Kendall?

kk

Did Kendall’s power stem from having authority over a grand scale of assets (in very broad terms), with only 5 other men having authority over a greater amount of comparable assets?

Is “Kendall” the name this character was widely known as?
