Yes, well-- “oral English to ASL” is the preferred phrasing. There’re some things I’ll explain that you probably can’t guess, but there’s one more detail in regard to the question the third woman asked, that you should be able to come up with that makes her question make sense.

HINT: People like Kendra and me were very rare among the student population, and had an honor code regarding our use of ASL.
OK. I’ll just spell it out so we can start the day with a fresh one. Also because I have had about 2.5 hrs. sleep and just brought the big meds on board, so (hopefully) won’t be able to answer questions for a while.
Kendra and I were interpreting (ie, Hearing) students at Gally. Sometimes we spoke, but only when it was just us, or us and and a third hearing person in private. (There were three in our dorm, but we all had Deaf roommates.) Kendra’s roommate, in fact, was my best friend.
The hearing people had a rule: we could speak English unless a Deaf person came into the conversational space, them we switched To The best ASL we could. WE NEVER HAD A SPOKEN CONVERSATION around deaf. people. That call wasn’t ours to make. But 3 on a winder w2; Never seimen4909ok.

Did Marilyn Monroe do this in person, or is this something that happened as a result of Richie seeing a movie of hers, a photo of her, hearing a story about her, or something else she did that was not done to deliberately affect this particular person.
