The only thing I can think of is along the lines of Adam is elected US President and Angela is his VP. Adam dies (IDK if it makes a difference before or after inauguration but if “You said that Adam’s death changed the participants in an election” is true then before inauguration it is) making Angela the new President and Mike is appointed the new US VP.
So that is my guess
Was Adam elected US President?
Did Adam die before taking the office he was elected for?
Was Angela VP-elect?
Did Angela get inaugurated as President?
Did Mike get appointed as the new Vice-President?
Did Adam die before taking the office he was elected for? N/A. Adam had never been elected to any public office at the time of his death, although (as per my answers above) he did run for one.
Was Angela VP-elect? No.
Did Angela get inaugurated as President? No.
Did Mike get appointed as the new Vice-President? No.
Did/will she give up her current position if she wins or runs for Adam’s position? Wrong assumption – Adam’s position at the time of his death, per his obituary, was “organic vegetable grower,” and I don’t think you have to run for that. But no, Angela would not have to give up her current position if she decided to take it up.
Would Mike have chosen to run for Adam’s position, if he hadn’t had unexpected success? I doubt that Mike’s success had any significant impact on any decisions he might have made about whether or not to grow organic vegetables.
OK, I’m not sure this one has really caught on, and since @Ana_Byrd says she has a new one, I’m going to go ahead and spoil it.
Angela is Congresswoman Angie Craig, currently representing a district in Minnesota. Minnesota has a state law – passed after Senator Paul Wellstone was killed in a plane crash shortly before an election – that says that if a major-party candidate for office dies within X number of days of an election, the election is cancelled and the seat remains vacant until a special election can be held. Recently, Adam Weeks, who was running for the same seat in Congress as the nominee of the Legal Marijuana Now Party, died unexpectedly. This wouldn’t ordinarily be a problem, since the Legal Marijuana Party is nobody’s idea of a “major party” – but, as fate would have it, Michael Ford, also a member of the LMP, took just over 5% of the vote in an election for State Auditor two years ago. This is, per state law, sufficient for it to meet the legal definition of a major party and trigger a postponement! (There has since been some legal wrangling, and it looks like the election may end up being held on schedule after all.)

Is Al a creature that was once thought mythical, or a hoax, but turned out to be real? A gorilla? A duck-billed platypus? No and neither of those.
Might be worth looking into why a simple question like “Is Al an animal?” was tricky to answer.
Is Al difficult to categorize regarding whether plant or animal?
Is Al difficult to categorize for some other reason?
Is Al a multicellular living thing?
Was Al mistakenly thought to be extinct?

This is getting weird, so I’ll go ahead and give the hint: Al is fictional.
Does Al come from another planet? Or maybe another world? Is Al short for Alien? No and no. I picked the name Al based on an obscure bit of trivia, but you should really just treat it as a a fake name for the purpose of the puzzle.
