Well, at least he didn’t order milk at a bar.
Chris Matthews does this all the time. He wants to be old school circa 1960.
In 2004, he did it to Kerry because Kerry ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich the “wrong” way.
**Obama is going to have a much more difficult time with his “bitter” comments and the tone of his voice on that tape. **
And really, all he did was state an honest opinion, but from a PR standpiont, it was a big mistake.
The case of an arrogant, cooly detacted candidate is starting to be made. Good thing there is still seven months to the general election.
It is getting worse. He is being painted into an effete corner. What kind of man does not drink coffee and bowl well. ? Not a manly man. Can you trust a man like that. Could you even call him a man.?His bowling was terrible.
I’ll bet he’s never jumped out a window shooting a gun in each hand either. Pansy.
Not only can and will he “survive” this, he has answered the retarded accusations by finally getting indignant. Watch his response here.
And here are the pundits on CNN with Wolf Blitzer, saying how freaking ridiculous and embarrassing to the Clinton campaign this nonsense is.
Come to think of it, didn’t OJ kill all those people. And he was black, too. Coincidence? I think not!
What does the Clinton campaign have to do with it?

Because Clinton and McCain have both been out front pushing this “elitist” meme because of the original speech Obama made.
What does *that * have to do with orange juice?

Sorry Elvis, you’re right. I read over the OP too quickly and thought this was about Clinton’s (and McCain’s) charges that Obama is an “elitist” based on remarks he made in San Francisco last week, not over him asking for orange juice.
Her claim that he’s “elitist” and “out of touch” at all is still ridiculous, but not the specific subject of this thread.
Carry on.

Let me tack my apology on as well. I somehow morphed this orange juice-specific thread into the whole “elitist” attack based on his speech of several days ago.
Hard habit to break, huh?
I don’t know, guys. Remember what happened to Kerry when he ordered his Philly cheesesteak with swiss?

No

Hey, the man always talks about how much he loves a good steak. That’s manly and American enough for me. ![]()
He must go clean out brush. He could volunteer at Bush’s ranch. He has been doing it by himself for 7 years. He will have to buy proper boots and a flannel shirt but then the stigma of orange juice and sub par bowling will be counteracted.
Is he serious- you always take coffee if offered, even if you don’t drink it or want it? On what planet? He’s trying to equate this with some insult to your host in a foreign country or something? All good Christian Americans drink coffee I guess. ![]()

Oranges, at least, are grown in the U.S.
Coffee has to be imported from — Venezuela!
If he drank coffee, maybe he wouldn’t be asleep when the phone rings at 3 a.m.

Yeah, it doesn’t even matter if your Carhardt Jacket and Timberland boots are absolutely pristine as though they’ve not spent much time in the brush. Apparently people who live like that don’t even pay attention to that sort of detail.

Well, they all tend to run together eventually…

Before I opened the thread, I asked myself, “OJ or bitter?” I figured it was a tossup.
Turning either one into a ‘gaffe’ is equally dumb.

Can Matthews survive this?

From your lips to the NBC head honchos’ ears.
