Context: A group known as the B-52’s had a hit song with Love Shack. Their other big hit was Rock Lobster. Many of the lines in this strip reference Love Shack.
Man, that supervillain was right about the 80s nostalgia thing…
and a line from “Rock Lobster” goes:
“It wasn’t a rock…
…it was a Rock Lobster!!!”
which explains the ending.
Funny thing is before the explicit Love Shack mention, at the “funky little shack” reference I immediately thought about this instead.
Seems to me that Benedict Cumberbatch should play Fred Schneider in the B-52s biopic. Amy Adams as Kate Pierson, and Adele as Cindy Wilson. Maybe Olly Murs as Keith Strickland?
