Popular perception? It’s a reality that anal sex carries a much higher risk of transmitting HIV than oral or vaginal sex.
Why is that? Genuine.
Because the vagina and mouth self-lubricate, greatly reducing the likelihood of micro-tears in the penis. Unless you’re super careful about lube, anal sex will almost always result in micro-tears, which is all you need to transmit the disease.
Women are always at risk because it can be transmitted through sperm. Men can only get it if their skin is breached, most commonly through micro-tears. The unpublicized truth is that it’s very unlikely for a man to get AIDS from unprotected vaginal sex. Unprotected anal sex, OTOH, is highly risky whether you’re pitching or catching.
EDIT: In hindsight, I think Dio’s point was solely from the female perspective, so yeah, his “popular perception” characterization is apt. Pay no attention as I begin the backpedal…
Yeah, but it says it’s a box, so how is it illegal to sell a box, if it says it’s a box. (Kind of stupid, but as long as it states what it is, and people pay attention to the ad, what can they do?)
The post that link first appeared in said selling the box “is legal, but it’s still wrong.”
A witness has come forward.
Later in the article, we learn the witness was present when the police arrived. The police report should confirm that she’s a legitimate witness.
I think this was all a set up for an eventual civil suit. The girl knew this guy was a famous nfl player. She smelled the $$$$$$$$.
I think LT will eventually get out of this mess. Hopefully a trial can be avoided. I can’t see a jury convicting him. The girl has admitted she told him she was 19. There was no actually penetration.
LT’s reputation won’t be the same. They may even kick him out of the hall of fame. He’s already admitted jerking off in front of the girl. The whole mess is sleazy. I hope the dumb shit has learned a hard lesson. :dubious:
Here we go again with the “lying slut” garbage. She’s a child who was brought there agains her will. End of story. LT may not have assaulted her, but that doesn’t alter the fact that she was kidnapped, beaten and sold for sex against her will.
I don’t know whether she was lying, but I wanted to point out that being raped, assaulted, kidnapped and sold for sex against your will and lying aren’t mutually exclusive.
There are girls who falsely accuse men of rape. I’m not saying that this girl wasn’t raped or beaten or kidnapped because it’s pretty obvious that she was. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible for her to have lied.
I don’t think anyone thinks much of LT right now. Getting himself into this mess is inexcusable. But, the law is specific about statutory rape. Some form of penetration (oral or vaginal) is required.
LT was stupid and it’s going to cost him. He’s got huge legal fees for a criminal trial. There’s no doubt a civil trial is coming and that’s more fees. He may not have a pot to piss in by the time this is over.
I don’t think anything that anyone involved in this situation has said has any more likelihood of being true than false. (or vice versa)
With the money that LT has potentially on the table, if knew the girl was underage, and had sex with her, it still makes sense that all the things that have been said were said.
Ditto if he knew she was underage, but didn’t have sex with her.
Ditto if he didn’t know, and it was all a setup.
It seems to me all possible scenarios are equally likely, and fruitless to arbitrarily choose which comments made by those involved are true.
Serious question : If a girl is young but of legal age of consent and wishes to have sex with an older guy and he wishes it with her, why is that unethical?
NOTE: The above is a hypothetical based on your response to state’s legal age consent laws and is not about this girl in the LT story.
It depends on the age of consent, but basically it’s sleazy because it’s exploitive. The girl doesn’t have the cognitive and emotional ability to give informed consent.
What do you think of a 40 year old guy who bangs 14 year olds?
None of which LT can be charged for as he’s not the one who kidnapped her, beat her or sold her for sex against her will.
If the witness is telling the truth, the only thing LT was pay for a hooker. Yeah, it’s sleazy, but I’m sure he’d rather be thought of as sleazy as opposed to a rapist.
As to LT, that may wll be correct, but I don’t like the vilification of the girl.
I agree, the girl shouldn’t be vilified. She showed poor judgment by running away from home. But, the things she did on the streets was for survival. The pimp used intimidation and violence to make her see guys.
The girl has helped LT by admitting she told him she was 19. She got caught up into a very dangerous situation. This pimp is a violent felon that’s been in prison. She’s very lucky to be back home, safe with her family.
The fact that the girl lied bears absolutely no significance under the law, so it doesn’t really help him at all.
But if she lied about whether he actually touched her, I’d hope it would.
It’ll help him with the jury. I’d certainly feel a lot different if LT wanted to hire a 14 year old.
LT did ask her age and thought she was legal. I’d consider that if I was on a jury.
Actually the prosecutor might consider that too. It’s his decision whether to pursue charges. This situation isn’t that unusual. The prosecutor could go for the lesser misdemeanor soliciting charge. Unfortunately, LT is a high profile case. The prosecutor probably feels like he has to make an example of him.
There is a guy in my circle of friends who has a very different lifestyle than the rest of us. His only relationships with women involve prostitution. He laughs at the rest of us for having “real” male-female relationships which (he points out constantly) in the long run cost more than his relationships, and we tolerate him because of the cool stories we get to hear involving three-ways, fetishes, and the like.
Anyway, WRT LT, my friend told us at the beginning of this mess that the girl’s statement to LT about her age is meaningless. My friend has been offered underage girls in the past. They go for a premium (cost more). He has declined. The “seller” has reassured him that the girls come to the date with believable fake ID in case of a bust, and that they will state a legal age when asked. My friend still (per his claims anyway) declined, but apparently “I’m nineteen” is pretty much SOP.
I bet most of those are actually younger looking girls rather than real underage girls.
