My company was bought, and boy it didn’t take long (~2 weeks) after the deal finalization to start the “head count rationalization.”
I’m OK, thankfully, some compadres weren’t so fortunate. I’ve been through this so many times (affected myself twice) that I’m getting immune to it. Unfortunately it also makes me immune to any kind of corporate loyalty.
Well, vacation today for 9 days. Time to unwind a bit.
But what happens when you return from your nine-day vacation and find your work area empty and your personal items packed in a box with your name on it at the front desk?

Oh no, I’ve been “assured” that that’s the end of the restructuring. :dubious:
Christ. Thanks for the support.
Go. Enjoy the vacation. Much of the drama will have (hopefully) passed by the time you return. In the business world, stuff like this happens. You are lucky to have dodged the bullet this time.
My manager spent a lot of time two weeks ago telling us about the VIP visit from corporate headquarters. Their first act? To fire managers, including him.
