When I worked at a video store, we had to balance the drawer at the end of each shift, and all of them had to be done before the supervisor left at the end of the night. That way the oncoming manager could make the deposit before the store opened the next day. Why would you wait a week to balance a cash drawer?

Yes, that is my perception.
