In response to inquiries, here’s how the competition was set up.
There was a thread for nominations. Anyone who was nominated and fit the criteria was put on a list.
The list was alphabetized and divided into sixteen groups. Everyone was allowed the vote for two people in each group. The top two people who received the most votes in each group advanced to the next round (this one).
I took the top people in each group and ranked them from 1 to 16 based on how many votes they got. Then I took the second ranked people in each group and ranked them 17 to 32.
In cases of ties, I broke the tie by how well they did over the other people in the group. So somebody who got ten votes when the second place person got five votes would beat somebody who got ten votes when the second place person got seven votes.
I then ranked them from high to low. The #1 person - Jenny McCarthy - was matched to the #32 person - Omarosa Manigault.
