I don’t want to threadshit but my first thought is what a cheap, petty, nasty old bat. Why can’t she just keep a supply in that handbag of hers? My grandmother Shirley used to leave candy around her apartment and then whine to my parents when we naturally grabbed a few candies here and there. I sort of got in trouble one day when I told grandma what my mom used to tell us exactly what she really thought about her whines once we got in the car home.

Back in the day when I was working with a general contractor one thing the boss drummed into our heads was that it was hands off anything in the house - you do not even get a drink of water without permission. You’re not family, you’re not friends, you’re there to do a job. (Of course, if the home owner offers you may accept, but never ever assume)

The nuts are their for the Queen and, presumably, her family and anyone she invites to indulge. Seriously, people, exercise some restraint. You’re there as security, not a guest. Swiping nuts or candy strikes me as unprofessional.

C) Snack bowls set out in someone’s own personal private rooms are not, by and large, for public consumption. Especially when that person is literally the Queen of England.

Exactly, these snacks are in her home for her private use. The police are not her guests.

A) She’s an old lady and can be as cranky as she damn well pleases.

B) Eating some of the snacks set out for public consumption is one thing, snarfing it all down day after day after day is something else entirely. Every thread we’ve ever had about office candy bowls is my cite.

C) Snack bowls set out in someone’s own personal private rooms are not, by and large, for public consumption. Especially when that person is literally the Queen of England.

Never take snacks from someone that has an answer ready for ‘You and what army?’
