No, it’s not just you. I’ve been sorely tempted in the last week or so to start selling hardware supplies here on the SDMB and make a few extra bucks from all the self-proclaimed Fearless Martyrs of the Republican Party.

People using “That’s so gay” lightly is what I’m talking about. It ceases to be “cool” once you’ve heard it used as a taunt. Likewise, people around here call people “fag” and “lesbo” meaning to be funny. It’s not funny to me. If it’s funny in your circle of friends, fine. But do it when you’re alone with them.
And by the way, you’ve not offended me. I was just trying to offer one viewpoint of why I personally think using “gay” as a catch-all insulting word is stupid.
I realize that your sister may be gay and use the word in such a manner. I hear African Americans sometime refer to each other as “nigga,” but I sure as HELL am not going to call them that.

As I said a couple of posts ago, I’ve most likely been readin to many pit threads. Seems to me that the most vocal posters, as in pissing and moaning about shit, are usually associated with the more liberal point of view.
I couldn’t give a shit less if someone thinks I’m a conservative or not as out of all the people on this board, I might have met a dozen. Out of that dozen or so, only ONE really knows very much about me.
Oh yeah, glad you weren’t offended by anything I said.
