Left4Dead2 DLC = "The Passing" might be available tomorrow

It has appeared in the Xbox Live marketplace, so looks like it’s finally here. I’ll be downloading it as soon as I get home.

And the original L4D character who dies can finally be confirmed as…Bill. At least, that’s what they’re saying on the Xbox forums. It appears that it’s not random, it’s always Bill. It’s hardly surprising; it’s been pointed out that the guy who does Bill’s voice wasn’t hired for the previous L4D DLC, “Crash Course”, and isn’t under contract with Valve anymore, so it was an easy guess.

Anybody get it yet on the PC? I’m at work and can’t check myself.

Steam doesn’t have it listed yet.

Looks like steam is downloading it now. If anyone wants to play it real quick, I’ll be around - unfortunately they scheduled the release to compete with the NFL draft, so I won’t be around to play during our normal times today. The new content and the new mutations mode is a good reason to kick our SDMB games back up in frequency.

YAY!!

The mutator idea is interesting - it could be frustrating if they end up hitting something great though. For instance, this week’s mutator is to have versus games with realism mode turned on (no outlines, deadlier zombies, etc.) - what if that turns out to be better than regular versus? (I think it may be). Then we get it for a week, then never again, from what I understand.

And I came in here to let everyone know it was finally updating.

I like the mutating idea, too, as long as it isn’t something stupid (all-chainsaw, all the time, for example).

I can’t imagine we’ll never see them again. And I would personally LOVE a 4on4 realism game. So much more…well, realistic. Stalking people doesn’t work as well if you grab someone and that suddenly gives you a bright red outline. Makes the Jockey useless 99% of the time.

In general I think versus is too easy on the survivors. When we were able, I used to like to play on advanced mode (where normal zombies did more damage) - but realism is even better. Mics are definitely a necesity.

I’ll be home after midnight EST if anyone wants to give this a run-through (well, after it downloads)

I’ll be on starting around 8:30 PM EST, I think. Probably tomorrow around the same time, as well.
