Do they ever enforce this. I thought you had to be 18 years old to buy a lottery ticket.
But I recall a while back a mother won the lotto and while on TV she thanked her 12 year old daughter for running out on a cold night to buy it.
Could the lotto people have not paid it if they wanted to.
Well, theoretically, you have to be 18 to purchase the ticket. However, I remember purchasing many tickets while I was underage for my mom. Of course, if she ever won, she would just say that she purchased it. The main thing is who the prize is awarded to (that person, of course, needs to be >18).
I believe that technically you can be any age to buy the ticket.
But you have to be over 18 to actually win.
I know in Georgia you have to be 18 to purchase tickets. How do I know? I normally get carded when I buy tickets(which I rarely do…but sometimes I just need to pay the “stupid tax”).
Here (TX) you have to be 18 to buy 'em, but any age can redeem 'em.
