legal differences between male and female

Are there any laws that are gender specific?

I would like to exclude the following:

Laws that are a impossibility with one gender due to biology i.e. assaulting a pregnant woman and causing a miscarriage.

and

The marriage issue or other laws that are really not gender specific, i.e. even though some laws use the term husband and wife, the basic truth is that a person can marry a person of the opposite gender - which is gender neutral.

Males are required to register for selective service at 18. Females are not.

I remember a story from a few years ago, where a man was castrated by some intruders. The story said that he was now considered “female” as he no longer had testicles.

I’m not sure where this happened, but like everything else, it’ll probably change from state to state.

Here’s some news from Florida.

A good paper on the subject can be found at MIT.
