Nobody seems to have thought out what allowing marriage rights to be extended to same-sex couples means. I wonder if the future costs to society incurred by this are even known, but anyway, here are a few issues:
-married partners are not required to testify against eachother in a criminal trial: this means that a criminal could marry his aprtner in crime, and potentially get away with it!
-inheritance: if you marry your butler, can you cut your kids out of the will?
-survivor benefits: social security will probably go broke, as you can keep on marrying as your partners dies off-and collect their death benefits
-divorce: currently, you can be granted a divorce for grounds of “non consummation” of the marriage-what does this mean if two people of the same sex are married?
So, it seems to me that same sex marriage will afford much work to the legal community…perhaps this is why it is being aggresively pushed?
Not one of these issues is unique to gay couples. So what exactly is your point?
A criminal already can marry his/her partner in crime and “potentially get away with it!”. Are you suggesting all criminal partnerships are unisex?
If you marry your maid can you cut your kids out of the will?
You can already do that! How does homosexual marriage change that?
Is “non consummation” ever really used any more as a reason for divorce? I thought “irreconcilable differences” was the in-phrase these days (which obviously would continue to apply without change). In any case, I find it difficult to see how a need to reinterpret “non consummation” is a significant concern.

He probably thinks crime has something to do with the “homosexual agenda.”
