Does anyone else remember the “epidemic” of lung damage due to vaping that was in the news towards the end of last year?

How many of the coronavirus casualties were vapers? (I read smokers are considered a higher risk, and “a lot” of Chinese males are smokers, but how about vaping?) Could the coronavirus be a “bad cold” that is particularly bad for vapers? And when did the technology to gene sequence a virus start being used to track infections? Could the panic be due to a confluence of a specific virus identification technology being newly available, and also a new type of lung damage from vaping starting to pop up?

Hey, I’m not panicing. As I explained in my original post, I firmly believe it’s a run of the mill virus and the whole freak out was due to vapers who damaged their lungs with new bad additives experiencing a run of the mill flu season. Can we really doubt that a dog tested positive for the coronavirus because of the political leanings of the news source? I don’t. Can someone find a source for it which people haven’t blocked out of consideration?

I think Vegas would be a bad vacation. But I am not changing any of my plans for coronavirus. I think it is an overblown run of the mill virus.

I certainly do remember, Aleq, and have a thread over on General Questions about it. If it was coronavirus back then, it has been spreading much longer than the main narrative says, and so I am not alarmed about this virus. I think the Chinese freaked out back around the new year because they were seeing a spike in pneumonia cases when people with vape lung hit the flu season. Read that thread and reply with your thoughts.

I think instead of complete cancelation, going from a crowd of say 60000 to 0. Instead you might have a crowd of 40000.
