lekatt's recent hijacks (removed from original threads)

This, by the way, is a rather concise description of most good acid trips. But I’m reasonably sure that pointing out that the same effects can have definite physical/chemical/neurological causes won’t really register.

Yeah, yours are the posts of a person who totally doesn’t believe, with rock solid conviction and religious devotion, that NDE’s are real, spiritual and that those who disagree with you are somehow living in fear and unable to rise to your vision.

Those are someone else’s posts.

And as long as your hijacks will be confined to this thread, I may echo Lefty’s sentiments, and point out that every time you claim that personal experiences are a valid metric and should be respected, that you actually pick and choose which are valid and don’t even begin to cleave to your own standard. While, at the same time, you simply ignore those experiences which you don’t like and/or dismiss them with the same terms that, when applied to your cherished experiences, elicit condescension and scorn from you.

I call bullshit.

Edit: unless, of course, you meant that other people see their own beliefs as true while you disagree about those beliefs… but hold your own beliefs to be totally true.
In that case, that argument is just a different kind of bull.

I think you’re taking it a lot more personally than most of it is intended. It would actually be pretty sad if people got worked up to the point of hatred about words on a screen - although of course it probably happens.

I think most of it is just that people have switched to being blunt and direct with you, because more subtle approaches just weren’t working.
I’ve noticed this personally - if I just politely asked a question about something, it was often completely ignored. If I posed my question a little harder in its wording, I got a reply, but you got upset over the tone. Can’t win.

Can’t really see how this can be true - since your entire argument has always been about how others don’t share your perception of life, and nearly the whole body of discussion so far has consisted of you explaining how your perception of life is different, and others explaining to you how your perception of life is not like theirs.
If you really didn’t notice this, where have you been?

Seems a sensible move in any case. Best wishes.

lekatt, why not post in some of our other forums? You said you like Star Wars-why not join us in Cafe Society? Or talk about your cats in MPSIMS? Didn’t you say you like to cook?

Hang out-chill, have some fun.

Lekatt,

To me I believe anyone can be near death, it is like ‘almost’ falling from a 30 store building. There is a wide difference between being near death and actually dying.
But the part I disbelieve is the actual death and ressurection of the conscientiousness. The brain is uncapable of being conscience if one is truly dead.

One more thought, for what it’s worth.

Please don’t confuse honest criticism or expressions of frustration with hatred. When we pursue the truth, for spiritual reasons or otherwise, one of the harder facets of the process is facing the truth about ourselves. IMHO the spiritual journey is much more complex than simply testifying about our own insights and beliefs. It is allowing life and the experiences it brings to us to teach us about ourselves. If we are open to it we discover our gifts but also our weaknesses and shortcomings. Areas where we need to continue to work. They are revealed in our interactions with others and how we handle what life sends our way. It isn’t pleasant to face up to our less attractive qualities but it is necessary if we truly desire to keep growing. In that we can be grateful for the uncomfortable reminders of our human failings.

Perhaps you can take this thread as one of those opportunities. That doesn’t mean every criticism is accurate or deserved, however, when you hear the same thing thing repeatedly from people who are honestly trying to communicate rather than ridicule, it’s good to seriously evaluate it for whatever truth it might hold.

That’s the end of my 2 cents worth. Onward and upward friend.
