This is true for me as well. (Not the spanking part, but the “real” actor part. 
) I get aroused more fully by viewing amateurs/mature/etc. than by “perfect body” professionals and/or models.
But that simply isn’t the case. Otherwise the only thing that would cause arousal would be straightforward vaginal intercourse.
My 2c as to why lesbianism (whatever form it takes) is a turn-on for guys: unattainability. The same reason they lust after Britney, or the neighbour’s wife, or any number of creations which exist only in fantasies.

Due to cultural upbringing, somewhere in the back of each man’s head lies the idea that when he has sex with a woman, he should be grateful, because she’s doing it for him. Nice girls don’t really want to, etc. Coupled with female ability to lie about orgasms and basically spin male heads with ease, this means that we’re never really sure what’s going on. When there are two girls they’re obviously doing it because they like it, since there are no men there they could be doing it for. So, it means they really, honestly, like sex. Horniness is sexy.

Priceguy, you have a cite for #3 (perhaps in your other discussion)? I remember sitting through my Gender in Cinema classes with all the Women’s Studies students gleefully deconstructing (they always seemed to be deconstructing something) the male psyche to find out why two chicks is hot. When they finally thought to ask a guy, the response they got was either a conciliatory, “I agree with everything you say and I am a sensitive male” or the honest, “I dunno, but two chicks is really hot.”
Nowhere could they bring up any cites that had even the slightest basis in fact - everything was subjective, “well, if we go back to Mulvey’s article it turns out that the phallic gaze is actually subverted when two hot azz bitches get it on, or, even worse, threaten to get it on because…”
That sort of stuff.
Now that I think about it, the only argument I’ve heard that’s even halfway decent is that there’s no dude with his schlong blocking the view of the woman, removing the potential homoerotic/sexual viewpoint. The problem with this argument is that it presumes that the (hetero male) viewer of pornography is really looking for some socially acceptable homoerotic thrills and uses the woman being there to cop a look, or, in the case of lesbian (gog) porno, simply as a means of proving that he’s not “gay.”
It’s onourbacksmag dot com. I went there and looked around last night. They only had a few pictures, and that’s all I had time to look at. I certainly wasn’t made uncomfortable by anything I saw there, but it was very…different from the sort of lesbian porn I’m used to. I’d be hard-pressed to say exactly why, but that was the impression I got.
Well, in the back of most straight males minds, seeing two hot chicks making out -> leads to threesome with said hot chicks,(quite a bit of porn follows this) which of course would double the chances of having a kid, giving it an evoluntionary cause.
Maybe in the end, all we can do is chalk it up to being “just one of those things.”
They don’t due to lesbiamism per se. But the male appreciation for the female form does, and therefore, the more of the female form the male sees, the more he’s aroused. The genes don’t have some sort of “if lesbian, off” switch.
Definitely not, and I never will. In the first thread where I posted that, I ended with something to the effect of “that’s why it works for me, anyway”. It was never meant as anything other than a totally subjective answer, which is also why I said the topic wasn’t really suited for General Questions.
As for RandomLetters’s suggestion, in my (still subjective) experience it just isn’t true. The fantasy of lesbian sex, for me, has nothing to do with it evolving into a threesome. That’s not to say I don’t fantasize about threesomes; I most certainly do. It’s just not the same thing. But I’ll grant that most lesbians, and probably most women, believe as RandomLetters does.
Hmmm…those lesibans…aren’t…like us. I dunno. Not terribly impressed (either obsessed or revolted). Sex advice column where the columnist suggests doing whatever it is that is giving you trouble, photos, etc. etc. sounds like any typical not-quite-porn sex mag.
My guess is that it’s difficult, in most presentations of pornography (videos, still pictures, etc) for the actors to show interest in the consumer. The best you could do there would be things like kissing the camera, which would frankly look kind of silly. Some men will identify with a man on the screen, and so there’s some purportedly “lesbian” pornography where you have things like the members of a sorority making out with each other until the pizza guy shows up, whereupon they lose interest in each other and converge on the lone male. This doesn’t work for all guys, though: Some guys would see the token male onscreen as “competition”, and would therefore prefer to see no males at all in the pornographic presentation.
And it isn’t limited to men and lesbians. A LOT of straight females find guy on guy INCREDIBLY arrousing. (Myself included).
Not me. Growing up, my understanding was that besides the cravings for chocolate and shoes, the average woman wanted sex. I do feel I should be greatful, since the woman has chosen me from a long list of applicants.
With any pornography, my concern is whether the woman is doing it soley for the money or if they are actually enjoying themselves. as Nametag said there is plenty of porn aimed at the straight male market featuring the standard dyed, heavy make up, painted press on nail, implant Barbies who are clearly just in it for the money. I do not find porn featuring such women arousing in the least. A friend (IIRC her lesbian roommate left it behind when she disappeared) has a refrigerator magnet with Grace Jones wearing nothing but boxing gloves. Grace is very clearly a woman who wants sex, enjoys people seeing her naked, and doesn’t do anything just to please a man.
I’m also fond of the films of Julie Strain. Strain is the model for numerous Heavy Metal covers. She has also appeared in numerous direct to video sf, horror, etc b movies. She does a lot of sex scenes, many with women. She is clearly enjoying herself during these girl-girl scenes. How do I know she is not acting? I’ve seen her films. She isn’t a bad actress. But, she isn’t anywhere near that good. OTTOMH, I can’t think of any actress who is that good.
