His wiki page is reflecting his apparent death and apparently Google has a new feature where they stream Twitter posts at the top of a search result page- news of his death seems to be spreading like wildfire there.
Very sad. The Naked Gun movies were classic.
The family has apparently confirmed that Nielsen (note the spelling) was suffering from pneumonia and passed away in his sleep at a hospital in Florida.

According to this story, a family member has confirmed his death at age 84.

At first, I read that as Liam Neesan. But he’s OK, so far as I know.

Maybe it’s a mistake, and it was Enrico Pallazzo who died.
Sad to hear. He had a long,serious acting career…and then he did Airplane and found his niche. Naked Gun, Spy Hard, Scary Movie…and Wrongfully Accused and Dead & Loving It had their moments.
TMZ says his agent has confirmed it. They’re good for celebrity news, so it seems to be true.
He actually was very good action in dramatic roles. I remember him first as the Swamp Fox for Disney, and, of course, Forbidden Planet. Airplane! cast him with that heroic image in mind, but he showed he was even better at comedy.

A true tribute to Leslie Nielsen - I’m tearing up a little and snorting with laughter at the same time. 
Surely, you can’t be serious…
This is very sad news – but to be honest, I’d be more broken up if it wasn’t for the fact that I could’ve sworn he died years ago.
