I thought it would be interesting to make a list of candidates for local and statewide office that are especially controversial. I’ll start with the one that inspired this thread.
Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski (R), of Portage County in northeastern Ohio, has called for the names and addresses of anyone displaying a Harris / Walz yard sign to be written down. Why does he want to do this? So that when immigrants arrive in town, they can be sent to live in the houses of the people who voted for her. The most recent development is that the Portage County board of elections has removed the sheriff’s office from providing security on Election Day in favor of private security. He is running to be re-elected as sheriff. His Democratic challenger is Jon Barber.
What other especially controversial local and state candidates (other than for governor, I don’t want this thread to be about Mark Robinson) are on the ballot this year? Let’s get them listed in this thread.
