Let The Quest for the Grail Begin!

So much for home ice advantage. 7 of the 8 teams with the higer seed lost game one. Only the Devils managed to take care of business.

But Doug Weight is so PRETTTTYYYYY…I want to cuddle on him…a puck to the face of weight is to injure Adonis.

So once again, Go Blues. Isn’t it about time their post season counted for something?

NO.

Go Leafs!

I was at work listening to the internet broadcast of the Red Wings game. I turned it off after Luc won it in the second overtime. Imagine my horror later that evening to discover they called back the goal and let the Ducks win it. Shit Fuck Damn Cock Barbara Streisand!

But at least Cujo looked solid. Now if we could only figure out Gigure…

So damn crazy that 7 of the 8 underdogs won. It was nice to see Colorado taking it in the pooper from the Wild. LOL

Holy mother of all that is fucking holy. Six to fucking one???

Who were those guys in the Oilers jerseys anyways?

Do I have to point out that this was some of the worst officiating I’ve ever seen?

Hopefully, by Sunday we’ll find out who abducted the real team and have them on the ice in time to play Dallas here at home.

Finally, a note to the league:

If goalies want to play all the way out to the corners and check players, they should be treated just like the other defensemen.

Ditto.

I would say the same about Toronto, too, except that last night’s performance was all too typical of late: stupid penalties, weak defence, and a lack of scoring opportunities. Toronto desperately needs Nolan, Roberts, and all of the blueliners to step up their games or this series is going to be over quickly.

Hey Feynn - what, if anything, was Cross thinking when he cross checked Robidas in the face? I was at the game and didn’t see Robidas do anything worthy of that cheap shot.

Also, I think that it would be asking for problems to make goalies fair game if they leave their crease. Anybody who hits a goalie is going to get worked over wether it is legal or not, and goalie running would become an epidemic. Of course you could then penalize goalies who freeze the puck out of the crease…

Adam If you were at that sad excuse for a game then you would have seen when Turco skated out to handle the puck then checked Horcoff…

Horcoff gets the penalty for goalie interference and Dallas gets a five on three power play even though Turco should have gotten the penalty for obstruction.

I have no idea what Cross was thinking when he hit Robidas and missed seeing that play… perhaps he was thinking just like Hatcher did when he hit Staois in game one?

I hate cheap shots no matter who perpetrates them.

Last nights officiating was so bad the players and fans didn’t even know who had been penalized in many cases.

Of course, Muller also got a goaltender interference penalty when he got hit into Salo, by Cross, IIRC.

The only exception was Hatchers hit was during the play, Cross knocked down Robidas after the whistle and then hit him.

I agree that the officiating was bad, but it been bad in both games so far. But the Oilers made a mistake in game 2. They played within what the refs allowed in game 1, but not last night. Also, there were times when they were so determined to play physical that it caused them to get way out of position. Youngs second goal is perfect example of that.

NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Frozen Four Championship: Minnesota. Go Golden Gophers.

IIRC, the Wild also won tonight’s game. I think.

Islanders lost to Ottowa, tough break.

Capitals beat Lightning.

Ducks beat Red Wings again. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, and the Wild actually lost to the Avalanche.

The Devils did not play tonight, but they are expected to win tomorrow.

I believe I owe an apology to the players and coaches of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

Who would have thought that they would be heading back to Anaheim with two games in hand over the defending Stanley Cup champions?

Let us all bow our heads and pray they they don’t choke when they get home…

If nothing changed in the last four minutes of the Canucks - Blues game it would also appear that Vancouver has evened up the series.

I hope McInnis returns for the next game and that the injuries he sustained in the first few minutes of the first period aren’t serious. The playoffs wouldn’t be the playoffs without him firing rockets from the blue line.

Is still want Vancouver to win but it would be great to see them face the Blues when they’re at their best.

Dallas has their own hockey team? OoooOOOOOOOh even more of a reason to move there!!!

We just have a little old (though not too terribly bad) minor (or whatever the hockey equivelant is) team in Anchorage, but I like hockey I get to every Aces and UAA game I can. But have never had much of a chance to be a regular, or a fan of a 'real" team.

And I’ve been thinking of moving to Dallas over the last couple of years.

I think it’s said that Anchorage Alaska only has a minor league team.

and I’d also like to add:

Go Ducks Go

and

WAKE UP ST. LOUIS

Yeah, but IIRC they once played the New York Rangers in an exhibition game; with hilarious results.

I have been quoted in a sig!

Well, we found those cocksuckers who abducted the team, beat the shit out of them and had the real team on the ice in time to face the Stars.

We also found some better officials.

I was saddened to hear the Hatcher was suspended for his antics in games one and two… NOT!!!

The Stars managed to cling to a one goal lead until the third period and perhaps a few months ago this would have been enough to win but now, this is where the Oilers shine.

I thought the building was going to explode when Laraque skated out from behind the Dallas net and buried the first puck in the twine to tie the game at 1:1. There’s really nothing quite like big George when he scores a goal and this just added more fuel to an already stoked Oilers squad.

Then Lehtinen bounces a pass off the back of Ferguson’s head and past Salo to once again give Dallas the lead.

Having none of that shit, Fernando Pisani crosses the blue line less than a minute later and fires a rocket past a stunned Marty Turco.

The goal of the night came from Dvorak as he skated in, took a pass and then undressed the Dallas defense before going five hole on Turco. It was one for the highlight reel.

The Oilers had some help in the form of more than 16,000 screaming fans and something we like to call momentum.

There will be more of the same in store for Dallas on Tuesday night.

You read it here first:

Senators 4, Islanders 2.

Senators 4, Red Wings 3.

The 2002-2003 Stanley Cup Champions: Your Ottawa Senators!

Conn Smythe: Patrick Lalime.

Just you wait.

Before the playoffs started my brother and I concluded that the Caps would beat the Lightning, and face Ottawa in the second round. We’d keep the first game close, then get swept.

But Olie’s playing well and we are actually scoring. If Jagr, Bondra, and Lang stay hot I could actually see the Caps beating Ottawa. The Caps have talent, it’s just that they rarely use it.

I’m now exhausted from that brief bout of optimism since I am perhaps the most pessimistic fan in the world.

The Ottawa Senators DESERVE to win the cup.

No team has played better hockey this season, despite the looming threat of bankruptcy.

A Stanley Cup win should stave off the blood-sucking bankruptcy court for a while should it not???
