I’ll look that up tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the info, Birdgirl.
My profile is restricted to refuse friend requests from anybody who isn’t a FB-friend of my FB-friends. I set this up after I got one too many friendspams.
Naturally, Opal is on my friends list. (I think she was the third Doper I friended.)
Nice try, I don’t play that. I will however send you a billion invites to see bands, hell you are only 8 hours away whats a full day drive to see some indie punk gig, especially since most of the shows play in Winnipeg the next day, or the day before.
ha ha ha ha ha
No, seriously if its a tour, I would let you know of Winnipeg dates. Otherwise, not so much.
It is a bit odd to see new friend requests from names that essentially you don’t know (as most of us are on FB with our real name, not our Doper name (my real name is close enough to my Doper name though, that I doubt there’s much confusion). At least I can sort through my new requests by if they have other Dopers friended.
Me!! add me! I’m into foreign languages, fitness (p90x!), history, military (Air Force), hoop dancing, belly dancing, fire hooping, writing, and philosophy. I’d love to chat and meet new people .
I don’t play the games anymore so don’t add me if you only want me to send back farmville stuff and what not.
I was friends with a lot of dopers on my old account, but it was disabled about half a year ago (why, I have no idea) and I just never got around to adding a lot of them back.
Here’s the one I made and have been using since Jan:
Sent out friend requests to everyone in here so far (well, those I wasn’t already friends with).
It would be a good idea, by the way, to send a quick message with any new friend request that you are Doper name so-and-so, I assume (I’m hoping) there are others like me that view friend requests from names they don’t know quite suspiciously, and since most of us don’t use our real names on the Dope … (So far, all my new Doper (I assume) friend requests come from people that have at least one other confirmed Doper as a friend, so I assume it is a Doper, although it could very well be just a non-Doper friend of a Doper.)
After seeing a news article today about police, in an effort to demonstrate to kids the dangers of the Internet, creating profiles of fake teenagers and all but two kids in the class friended them, does make me view non-RL friend requests suspiciously. Not like I don’t want to be friends with y’all, I do have my request here, don’t I? Still stands. But, maybe when you’re sending out a friend request to another Doper let them know who you are. (This should apply whether you’re sending the request to me or anyone).
