The Canadiens are for sale. There are 7000+ people registered here. I figure we can pool enough money to buy an NHL team. I propose that we move them to Idaho and change their name to the Assboink Putzes in the spirit of the SDMB. How large a donation would it take to get any given town in Idaho to change its name to Assboink, by the way?

Well unfortunately part of the condition of the sale is that the team can’t be moved. So I guess you’ll just have to by Montreal and rename it to Assboink. With the current exchange rate I figure the city should cost like 100 bucks or so.
You don’t want to own a hockey team, trust me. I love hockey more than any other sport, but owning a hockey team, even the storied Habs is a BAD idea.
