If VCO3 had stopped there, it would have been fine. But the idea that it’s obvious that the parents did it is just dumb.
Rilchiam:
No, no! See, the guy was just playing a joke. He was going to take away one child and wait to see if the parents noticed. In about a week, he was going to bring back Maddy along with another child, and wait to see if that got noticed, then take away one of the twins, and so on. What blew it for him was that the parents noticed right away that Maddy was missing. But when they sent him an email asking if he knew anything, he said he didn’t. And now he just wants people to stop talking about it.
Well, then it’s obvious why the kidnapper hasn’t come back. Think at all the verbal abuse and snarky comments he’d have to put up with.

White, rich, doctor murderers. I say 3 out of 4 is enough for an arrest.

This approach seems to have failed around here recently.

Funny, but that’s the first case I thought of. Everyone was so sure that Lindy Chamberlain was guilty…
Put me down for thinking that occasionally drugging their children so they can go out on the town is something they should feel guilty about. Assuming that actually happened, of course… there is so much bullshit flying around this case, you can’t be sure who said what unless it’s on tape somewhere. And if that particuar admission is on tape, I haven’t heard it.

This board has been full of high comedy the last week, of a rare sort not seen in several years. I love it.
Okay, you two are longtime murder freaks whose views (somewhere beyond “opinions”) I respect–who do you like? I’m still liking the parents.
Let’s submit the air-conditioner-towel image as being that of a divinely inspired sketch artist!

Are there any nude pictures of Kate Mccann on the internet? Someone suggsted that since the parents are swingers that some may be out there.
I saw this in a movie once. As it turned out, the guy without a face was just Madonna with some panty hose on her head.
Does she have an alibi?

“We’ve substituted this child with a Tasters Choice toddler. Let’s see if the parents notice.”
They probably clear $1m a year - not mega-rich, but at least 15 times the average income in the UK.
By now there’s so much bollocks been written in the media that it’s impossible to tell the true story.
Only the discovery of a body will help now, or a sudden confession. In terms of currrent evidence the police are totally snookered.
The drawing itself is here. What’s bizarre about it is there’s no face, not even the amount of face that a Ken doll would have. It’s just a generic male with Caucasian hands and longish black hair, wearing brown slacks and a black shirt, carrying a limp child’s body. What’s Joe Friday gonna do, put out an APB for a white guy wearing brown pants and a black shirt? Oh, and, he was moving “with a sense of urgency”. Well, gee whiz, that narrows it down considerable…
I think I’ve seen him somewhere before…

I dunno why VCO3 is complaining - if the girl was still alive, she’d grow up rich and thus his mortal enemy, so what’s one fewer plutocrat parasite?
I remember when that kid Smart, whatever her name was, was kidnapped. Some here strongly believed the father did it based on his being weird (mormon or something). Then that other couple who were swingers.
And way before our time was that dingo case in Australia.
By now the lesson should be that we should stop from speculating based on, mostly, our own biases.
Me? Meh! It’s a tragedy. And it happens, and worse, many times every day the world over.
I’ll grab the pitchfork when we have something in the way of evidence.

Boy. You sure know how to suck the enjoyment out of good old fashioned mob mentality and vigilanteeism.
Spoilsport.
With all due respect, Susan-drove-her-kids-in-the-lake pretty much ruined it for any other parents that loses their child somehow. After you can wrap your head around THAT story, it’s kind of hard to sit through a similar situation and not feel twice shy.
I have no particular opinion on the case, however, my heart does go out to the child, regardless.

Well, how about just keeping our minds open then? I don’t know if the parents did it, I don’t know if they didn’t. So I’ll just keep the torch away until we actually have something other than speculation by sleazy newspapers.
I know, I know. That’s just crazy talk.
