Let's hear it for the First Amendment - Lenny Bruce Pardoned!

**On the other hand, Rep. Doug Ose (R-California) and Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) have introduced a bill to make it illegal to say eight specific words on broadcast television. Silly cunts. **

Sorry 'bout that. I read it in the paper. Let’s see… here’s one: http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A61109-2003Dec12?language=printer]Link to Washington Post. Or use Google with “Clean Airwaves Act”.

Apparently the link above works, but if I’d coded properly it’d look like this: Link to Washington Post.

Thanks!

Robin

They might be vulgar but the eighth word si ass hole. They count it as vulgar wheather it’s ass, asshole, or ass hole. (You mighta noticed the recent increased censoring of the word asshole on tv.)

Off the top of my head, anything by Quentin Tarantino:D

iampunha now has the right to RUN through this thread NAKED!!!

God Bless you, Lenny. You popularized Yadda, Yadda, Yadda and you gave me a good read on one of your books.

I often quote one of your lines…I don’t remember the exact words, but it goes somethig like…

When a person calls himself a "man of God' and has more than one suit in his closet, when there are people out there who don't have clothes, then that's a hypocrite.

Of course, Lenny said it so much more fucking eloquently than I.

Pump Up the Volume?

Aye, but this being a private organization (or at least owned by one), I don’t quite have the same rights. They’ve reduced me to ::runs nekkid through vanilla::

Good times.

 :o
Fight The Power!

Leonard said every word but Schneider- why not?

Funny isn’t it? How so many of those old-time comics changed their last names to “not sound so Jewish”, and kept those first names that couldn’t be anything else. Always did get a kick out of that.

As to the pardon, I don’t consider it to be a waste of time nor effort. It speaks to an issue that is as current now as it was then, censorship.
