You’re chemically impaired, right? I wouldn’t want to disparage you knowing so…
Alabama 3 3 3 3 3 2 2 .930
Oklahoma State 2 2 2 2 2 3 3 .950
Computer numbers from ESPN…

All comers when the best opponents were excluded by the insular nature of the system. Okay.
I repeat: until LSU beats OSU on a neutral field it’s not the champion.
Good night.
Yep, and this is exactly what I’m saying WRT this season. This is exactly the reason Bama is in and OK State is not. Any loss to a team not #1 is worse than a loss to the #1 team.
What do you want me to tell you? I didn’t vote in the 2006 poll. Human polls are odd. An argument that sways voters one year may not sway them the next, and vice versa.
OK, I’m sold. Let’s get rid of the BCS. I’m all for it. But for now, the system we have came up with a championship matchup. If you don’t like it, I’m terribly sorry. I would have hated the shit out of it if OK State had jumped Bama. I dreaded it all day, because I though OK State’s game last night might have been enough to do it.
But it wasn’t, and if you or anyone else in the country chooses not to acknowledge a BCS champion as a result of an LSU-Bama matchup, all I can say is this: pfffffffthahahahahahahaha!
The problem, of course, is that teams have a direct interest in voting up their fellow conference members, as each conference team receives some ridiculous amount of money (like $10m?) when one of their members plays in a BCS bowl.
Just another reason why using the coach’s poll is a dumb idea. Full stop.
You have no say in the matter.
Sleep well!
No, what’s that’s called is making shit up as you go along. Or, as it’s more affectionately known, “making shit up so long as it benefits the SEC”. Just calling a spade a spade there.
Yeah. You dreaded the thought that the two most deserving teams might actually play for the title based on the purported “every game matters” mantra. Such a scary thought…
Congrats on stooping down to the level on a eight year old.
I interpreted your post as talking about the people you were responding to in this thread. As such, it appeared to be a dismissive way to put words in peoples’ mouths. I never even considered Houston as part of the picture, and you don’t know if anyone arguing here ever wanted Houston.
Oklahoma State has a better resume than Alabama. They have better wins. They won their conference. Alabama’s schedule sucks, and they beat only 1 of the top 5 teams in their own conference (compared to 4 for Oklahoma State). Alabama already lost to LSU at home. All of these are legitimate reasons to prefer Oklahoma State over Alabama.
On your point about the SEC being a special target, I still don’t see any support. Most people approved of the Big 10 rematch getting broken up in favor of the SEC. Everyone agrees the SEC deserves a representative in the title game this year. How is that anti-SEC bias?
Your argument almost seems to be accusing the SEC itself of anti-SEC bias, since they supported an expanded playoff. Does the SEC hate the SEC?
