#91 Wood Buffalo, Alberta. Following the wiki link, though, I have heard of Fort McMurray, the major town/city that got amalgamated with the rest of the area to form Wood Buffalo.
I have a classmate from Maple Ridge, which got me past #75!

Mississisaugaippi.
Its north of Toronto by maybe 2 miles , iI was gonna say the other side of steeles avenue, but it could easily be the other side of highway 7.
Declan
Yup. Markham is north of Steeles, east of Yonge. Vaughan (pronounced “Von”, by the way) is north of Steeles, west of Yonge. Centred on Yonge, a ways further up, are Richmond Hill, Aurora, and Newmarket.
Mississauga for me. I kinda figured it’d be the Wuhan of this thread, but maybe I’m more out of touch than the average American. Either that or it’s better known in and around the East coast or something.
Brampton was the first one I couldn’t recognize.
I did know about Mississauga but only because I remember hearing jokes about it by Canadian comics and on SCTV years ago. You have to admit it is kind of a funny-sounding name.
That Wiki list is using some funny definitions of city in my opinion.
For example, it lists Nanaimo (where I live) as having a bigger population than Victoria! That’s really only possible if you define “Victoria” as ten blocks surrounding the Parliament buildings. But the Victoria that I know starts at the bottom of the Malahat (in this mysterious “Saanich” place that no one has heard of) and covers the bottom of Vancouver Island from there. It’s vast and you can tell just by the way the roads and buildings are built. Nanaimo is vast as well but spread out like a shotgun blast. We haven’t really had to build up because we can still build out. But anyone who takes a walk through downtown Nanaimo during the day and takes a walk through downtown Victoria during the day won’t have any trouble figuring out which one belongs higher up on the list.
Me three. I don’t know where Mississauga is, but I’ve read news stories that mention it. And even if I knew of Hamilton, I though Surrey was in England.
Mississauga - I’ve never been to Canada
I was born there!
I’m not very well traveled, but I’ve heard of everywhere on that list. Dad was a trucker, and I spent 14 years dispatching for an office equipment company, so that might have something to do with it…
Blainville - actually made me go “Quebec? Where the hell is Drummondville…ah there it is”
I thought it was Brampton, until I remembered that I had been there. That is how boring a suburb it is. Mississauga, however, I remember due to taking a very wrong turn trying to get back to the Airport.
Vaughan again, #18.
I’m from the US.
The Canadian alternaqueer band the Hidden Cameras released an album called Mississauga Goddam.
Brampton.

Glad I wasn’t the first.
Likewise. I thought I’d do a bit better than #6, though!
Another Brampton here. I’ve been to Mississauga, but never heard of Brampton.
