Let's play Operation! How many parts have you lost since you were born?

Remember the Operation game?

How many parts that you were born with were removed one way or another? Hopefully without a buzzer sounding.

First to go for me was my foreskin. I lost my tonsils and adenoids at age 5. It was trendy back then. By age 10 I’d lost 10 permanent teeth in an accident, at age 18 my wisdom teeth were removed, and now I no longer have any permanent teeth. I’ve had a portion of my prostate removed. Both knees have been replaced. In the near future I’ll have the lenses in both eyes replaced because of cataracts. I feel a hip replacement coming someday also.

I’m trying to think. I don’t think I’ve lost anything other than the typical - hair, nails, dead skin…

No. Wait. I did lose an opening at the top of my spine about 3 months after I was born. Now I just have a scar I hate having touched.

Hmm, i lost my baby teeth. Lots of bits of skin to scrapes and such. I’ve had a couple of moles removed, too, so more skin. Oh, and lots of hairs and bits of nails. And scabs. It’s hard for me to leave them alone. I suspect the inside of the intestine gets shed into the feces, as well.

Gall bla#er, wisdom teeth, a couple of regular teeth.

Also my thymus. That’s a weird one

I haven’t even lost all of my wisdom teeth (I was missing one of my “regular” permanent teeth, so there was room in that quadrant of my mouth to leave the wisdom tooth in). Other than the normal stuff like baby teeth, fingernails, hair, and a bit of umbilical cord, I’m still fully OEM.

I for one gained a couple of assorted titanium bits and pieces, mostly to be installed in my left calf

Two wisdom teeth, three sets of tonsils, many adenoids, both sides of right big toe nail (ingrown).

Well, everyone eventually loses their thymus (except in certain disorders), as it atrophies into a bit of remnant fat.

It always struck me as a false note in Silence of the Lambs where Hannibal Lecter talks about incorporating a victim’s thymus in the sweetmeats casserole he was preparing. Most unappetizing.

But I digress.

All baby teeth, two front teeth, four wisdom teeth. Two breasts, 3 lymph nodes. Several warts and a few pilar cysts (not body parts, but built in part from my tissues).

ETA: Several uterine fibroids.

Tonsils, 4 wisdom teeth, approximately 19 teeth. Still have my uterus but its not needed.

All baby and wisdom teeth and my appendix.

Never mind.

Wisdom teeth (why are they called that. They are stupid teeth)

Both of my lenses out of my eyes. Replaced. Cataract surgery. First time since 3rd grade that I don’t need glasses.

About 3 inches of my right hip. Got a replacement. I could dance (if I danced)

Four wisdom teeth, four next-to-the-eyeteeth. All baby teeth. A foreskin. Both stapes bones. I think that’s it. So far.

If it’s not too personal I’m curious how that came about.

Yeah, I didn’t lose mine the easy way, so it had to be done the hard way

Baby & wisdom teeth, one bicuspid (and a couple of molars will have to go someday), appendix, prostate, eye lenses.

One wisdom tooth, the lower part of my large colon, and, recently, one parathyroid gland. Probably doesn’t count, but also several kidney stones.

Wow, Dendarii_Dame and OttoDaFe, I thought there would be a lot more appendix-less Dopers, but (unless I missed someone) there are just you two?

Till now.

I’m also in the appendix-losing group. Also a foreskin, four molars and half an incisor. I enjoy telling people (somewhat truthfully) that I lost the half-tooth to a time bomb.

Foreskin, baby teeth, four wisdom teeth, four more teeth (the four next to the wisdom teeth, are they molars?), and, about four months ago, my right big toenail. But it’s growing back nicely.

Still have everything else, including appendix and tonsils.
