Richard Briers in his heydey would’ve been a good Doctor. I would’ve paired him with an actress contemporary of that time (the 70s) like Tessa Wyatt or Jenny Agutter.
As for current actors, I’d choose someone esoteric and quirky, like Eddie Izzard or Griff Rhys Jones. And for his companion, Liz White who was Annie on Life on Mars.
Keanu as the doctor would be a riot.
Danny Pudi as The Doctor, with Donald Glover as companion. I could watch about 6 seasons of that. Maybe followed by a movie.
