Yeah, he was also a bit old for the role. I think Peter was supposed to be late 30s to early 40s.

It was a long time ago I saw the Carmichael version (even longer ago than the Petherbridge). I just remember thinking he was awfully … hearty … for a man described as appearing languid and foolish most of the time.

Also, damnit, he wasn’t blond.

(I’ve read the Wimsey mysteries many times. I have a fairly firm picture of Peter, and Carmichael weren’t it.)

O.k., ok. I yield. I also haven’t seen any of the eps in decades, so some details could be escaping me.

I love a lot of cozies, but always take offense when Louise Penny’s books are included. I feel like they are more.

check out Murder’s A Swine for a lovely murder mystery that takes place in London, in the early days of WWII.

I found it charming.
