Lets talk about hand written thank you cards for bereavement offerings.

If you send anything send cards. Not everyone has email, and even for those that do, it just seems lazy (even if you’re not going that way for that reason).

Tbh, when my dad suddenly died, I have no idea how my sister and I got thru it, much less send thank you cards. We signed papers, met lawyers, had a funeral … cant even recall anything else. Cut ppl some slack, ay?

Yes to handwritten thank you cards for food, flowers, money, or Masses. No to thank you cards for cards or letters, although if someone takes the time to write a personal letter to you rather than just sign a sympathy card, it’s a nice thing to write a note back.

And it doesn’t have to be done right away. It took me months to be able to do it.
