so about that, I had covid and I’ve been experiencing both physical and mental ailments since progressively but I used to drink then quit for a long time and now I started again more habitually and im not sure if I’m feeling my kidneys ache in the morning or just back pains like usual and i do feel if I binge hard the next morning a couple shots sound lovely but I don’t get a typical hangover never have except fireball makes me wake up and chug every water bottle in sight lol but yea I thought I was detoxing from alcohol but it went away after a few hours and I quit for a few days and didn’t experience any of the symptoms so idk whats going on but my body def isn’t the beast it used to be
I’ll have to try this quarantine I’m a bouncer so every night I try to try something exquisite or at least different lol and wtf is corn and oil ? Sounds like straight whiskey to me lol
Really for how big of a bottle ?
Its weird if I eat right before bed I mean like solid munchie status n pass out with a food baby I wake up starving but liquor idk I never took note or notice I drink from dark to dark , yeah its a problem I know
BTW kinda responded to part of your msg to an above individual I assume you read all posts so you’ll see it but I didn’t reference you in the afformwntioned post
its hard for me to admit many whiskeys are better than Jack its more of a sentimental thing but I hear you but also I drink liquor straight mainly I like to feel that burn haha its like hugging an old friend
The way I make it, is aged rum (4 parts) with Velvet Falernum (a sweet spicy liquor – 1 part) and bit of lime. You can also make it with blackstrap rum.
The closest liquor store to me doesn’t have EW but does carry WT101 and it’s probably my second most purchased bottle. It’s a little under $26 out the door, though my local is in Cook County and in the City of Chicago. I think the sticker is $21.99 for that one. The EW BIB stickers $17.99 in the next county over.
A fifth / 750mL.
I haven’t tried the 2nd ingredient ill have to try it
Nowadays I mostly drink single malt Islay Scotch whiskies; I always have 3-4 bottles of those lying around my apartment. Once in a while, if I’m feeling adventurous, I’ll go buy a non-Islay single malt Scotch from the liquor store.
If I’m visiting my parents, I’ll have a glass of bourbon or an IPA from their shelf, since I’d rather not spend my own money on those.
No health issues so far, since I have great self-control and only around 2-3 drinks a week.
top 5 fav scotch brands, go lol
Kudos to your consumption lvl i guess i cope different do u drink those all at once or that’s the sum of a week’s worth of consumption
Currently it is Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Highland Park, Ardbeg, and Bunnahabhain. There’s still many distilleries I’ve yet to try (in particular, I want to get my hands on the Bruichladdich Octomore series), so the list can definitely change in the future.
I only ever have one bottle open at any time, to minimize the degradation of flavor that happens with partially filled bottles. I’ll open a new bottle, finish it in 1.5 months or so, and then move on to another new bottle.
I drink a lot less since the pandemic started. If I drink, it has mostly only been in company of friends or an occasional beer with a neighbor. These occasions have become exceedingly rare for obvious reasons. I bought a case of beer (20 bottles of 330 ml) last spring and I have more than half still left.
wow that’s awesome may I ask what your “outlet” is if you know what I mean
may I ask what country your from ? Don’t recognize any of those names lol
Sorry, not a native speaker, I don’t know what you mean…
If that figure (20 shots/day) is correct, and these posts are wholly serious and I’m not being whooshed, then please be careful.
I don’t know where you are, but it’s primarily a Northeast/Mid-Atlantic states thing (they’re based in Pennsylvania; it’s so ubiquitous there you can walk into just about any bar in the state and just ask for “a beer” and that’s what they’ll give you), though they are trying to expand their distribution westward. It’s always cheap, and it’s easily way better than those other three.
I’ve found that Ancient Age is a decent budget approximation of Maker’s Mark. Both are from the sweet and smooth branch of the whisky family tree. Evan Williams has a stronger bitter taste that I am not a fan of, but if you are also the type that prefers a hoppy beer, that’s probably more what you are after.
For mixers, I’ve found nothing beats the bang for the buck of the big bottle from Costco. American standard blend, I think they call it. Bland and inoffensive, tastes good mixed with anything.
Most of my drinking revolves around a mixer: Cock ‘n’ Bull Ginger Beer. Most days after work, I’ll mix it half and half with a hard cider. If it’s been a stressful day, it’s ginger beer and Cazadores Reposado. If I have guests, I’ll make proper Mexican (tequila) or Moscow (vodka) mules with lime juice and fresh mint - the secret is to use a full shot glass of lime juice.
