I need to write and send out letters to local businesses to ask for doantions for a non profit organization. We are asking them to donate prizes for a bingo that we are holding.
How do I address the letters in a way that I don’t have to write a dozen different letters ? To Whom it may concern, just doesn’t seem right. I don’t know if it’s correct to just not address it to anyone. What’s the best way to do this ?
Since in the past you have shown your ability and responsibility to take leadership in the community, I have take the step at the beginning of this letter to address you as such…
What is a computer for but to generate personalized letters? I think you will get a much better response if you simply C&P the name of the person you are writing to at each company into each letter. Word it right and you can even drop the name of their business into the body of the letter. They’ll know it’s a mail-merge job, of course, but it’s still nicer than “To Whom It May Concern” or “Dear Manager.”
